FC: Love's Confusing Joy
It was the night of their wedding; a fairy tale wedding that Rosemary and Carlos had been waiting many years for. The day could not get any better. Everything went perfectly.
The very next day, at 4:00 am, the newly wedded couple went to the airport to begin their new lives with an adventure. Adventures filled with romance, and the true meaning of their sacred love.
And what could be a better place than Paris! Paris is the dream honeymoon they have been planning and waiting for. Where the smell of romance is everywhere. Beautiful, magical Paris.
On the first day, the newlywed couple went on a romantic boat ride. "Rosemary, you are the love of my life. There's no one I ever rather be with but you," said Carlos. | A huge smile grew upon her face as she replied, "Aw babe, that's so sweet! I will always love you no matter what. You're my true love."
The next evening, Carlos wanted to surprise his wife by taking her to a five star restaurant. | "Carlos, You're the best," she said excitedly. "You deserve all of this and more Rosemary," he whispered as they made their way inside.
As they were enjoying themselves, a small family walks by while being escorted to their table. A woman glances at Carlos and when she takes a second look she stares at him in complete surprise. With no hesitation she strolled to the table and said, "Excuse me I'm sorry to interrupt, but it's me Christina. We went to prom together? Listen I know this might not be the perfect time to say this but this is your son."
In shock and confusion, Rosemary rushed herself outside not knowing if she should believe what she just heard. | Shortly after, Carlos speed walked out right after her in confusion as well. That woman's face was certainly familiar to him but he didn't know from where.
"Rosemary!" he yelled as he was trying to get her attention and catch up to her. | "Carlos, how could you do this to me?" she cried. "Do what, I didn't do anything I swear!" he replied.
They were heartbroken, and confused. This was supposed to be the happiest trip of their lives but now it just seemed like it was anything but that.
There was nothing but silence between the two as they both tried to figure out what will happen if Christina wasn't lying. | Rosemary broke the silence, "Listen, whether it's true or not I will always love you just like I told you the other night," she whispered while trying to smile.
A few moments later, they heard footsteps getting closer and closer. All of a sudden they hear a voice, "Chris, listen I'm sorry. I know that was rude but I was just so surprised to see you," she explained. | "Wait, what did you just called me?" he asked. | "I called you Chris," she responded with an alarmed look on her face. | Carlos and Rosemary faced each other with joy as he said, "Christina, I'm not Chris. I'm Carlos his twin brother."
Christina started to cry in disbelief and embarrassment. Even though she barely knew anything about Chris, he was just her date for prom. Also, since they both went to different schools no one would have ever guessed they were twins unless they were family or close friends. | "All I wanted was for my son to meet his father, I told him everything. But after graduation everyone went their separate ways, and since I moved I had no idea how to reach Chris to tell him. I'm so sorry its been many years," Christina explained.
Later on in the night, they exchanged numbers and let each other know that they were going to keep in touch to see what they could do. | Carlos and Rosemary comforted Christina and told her that everything was going to be alright.
In the following days, Carlos and Rosemary continued their honeymoon.
Instead of being upset about what happened, they were actually thankful because they knew that nothing could ever break them apart. Whether it's purposely or not.
