S: Anande's Big Show
FC: Anande's Big Show
Anande was a little girl, who spent her days at Granny's Day Care. At the end of the day, her mommy came to pick her up,
On the drive home, Anande asked 'Mommy, where are we going today?' Mommy answered, 'We are going to see Daddy at work.'
When they arrived at Daddy's job, Anande asked, 'What does Daddy do?'
As Anande watched her father on stage, Mommy answered, 'Daddy recites poetry and introduces people who recite poetry'.
Anande listened as Daddy introduced a poet to the stage. 'Welcome to Golden Mic Cafe. Clap your hands for our first poet, Mr. Poems.'
The poet then began to recite his poetry. 'The sun, the rain and the moon. the cow jumped over the spoon . . .'
Anande was excited by what she heard. 'Mommy, that man talked in rhymes, can I do that?' Mommy answered, 'Baby you can do anything you put your mind to.'
On the way home, all Anande thought about was having her own poetry show.
The next day, at Granny's Day Care, Anande was excited. She shouted 'Granny, Granny, I have a surprise for you.'
As she sat with the other children at the day care, Anande said, 'We're going to have a big show for Granny, like the kind my daddy has. We'll all do poems.'
It sounds like a good idea, but what are we going to write about?
'I know. We will each do a poem about something we know about. Like colors, shapes, animals, A-B-C's, and 1-2-3's.' said Rosa.
And the children went off on their own to write their poems.
After a while, Anande came to Granny, telling her that it was time for the show.
Granny sat patiently in her chair. 'I love a good show' she said.
'Welcome to Poetry Time at Granny's. I'm your host Anande, I'd like to introduce our first poet of the day, Jason.'!
Jason-- 'I know what to do, with 1 and 2. I walk through the door with 3 and 4. I match and I mix, with 5 and 6. My poem is great with 7 and 8. Before I go, you all should know, with 9 and 10, I'm done. The end.'^
Autumn-- 'My name is Autumn, just like the time when leaves are orange and brown. But what a sight, when things are white, like when snow hits the ground. Grass is green, also the sky is blue or black or gray. Colors everywhere you look, that's all I have to say.'
Shawn-- 'Circles, squares everywhere, on the ground, in the air. Like the sun, like the moon. Like the shape, of this room. Triangles have 3 side you see, and that's what shapes look like to me.'
Rosa-- 'Meow-meow, is how a cat says Hi, tweet-tweet-tweet, is how a bird says Bye. Squeak is how a mouse says Yes and No, and woof-woof-woof, is how a dog says Go.' and I'll say woof, because it's time to . . .' | And the children all hollered, 'GO.'
Anande-- 'A-B-C-D-E-F-G, were on the paper line. H-I-J-K-L-M-N, would follow right behind. Under them was O-P-Q-R, S-T-U and then V-W, X then Y, and Z was at the end.'
Granny clapped her hands and shouted hooray. 'That was the best show I have ever seen.'
The children were very proud of themselves. They all grabbed hands and took one big bow.
At the end of the day, when mommy asked what she had done at Granny's, Anande answered, 'Mommy, we had a Really Big Show.' | The End.
