S: God Made You Special, Hannah Kate
FC: God Made You Special | Hannah Kate
Hannah | "I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made." Psalm 139:14
Dear Hannah, I am so thankful to God that He has chosen me to be your Mommy! What a wonderful blessing! I've known since the the first time I held you that you are a very special girl. Each day I get to watch you grow and learn and each day I am amazed at the miracle God has given us....You! I love you, Mommy
"I prayed for this child and the Lord has granted me what I asked of Him. So now I give him to the Lord For his whole life he will be given over to the Lord." 1 Samuel 27-28
There was a time in my life before you were born, Hannah, that I thought I might never be able to have a baby. Daddy and I prayed and asked God to bless us with a child. We wanted you so much, Hannah! When God answered our prayers, and I got pregnant with you, we were so excited and thankful! One day I came across the story of Hannah in the Bible. She was a woman that wanted a baby very much and prayed to God for a child. God answered her prayers and gave her a son. I knew God had answered our prayers just as He had answered Hannah...so that is how you got your name, after Hannah in the Bible!
We have different gifts, according to the grace given us." Romans 12:6
Hannah, you are such a performer! You love to dance and sing and it brings us great joy to watch you! God has also given you the ability to make friends easily. There isn't a place we visit that you don't make a friend. It's so wonderful to see how kind, loving, and sweet you are and to watch you share those qualities with everyone you meet. You are becoming a great helper to Mommy! You have recently learned to hang up your own clothes and you've taken great joy and pride in this task. You also put the dirty clothes in the laundry basket, help pick up toys and books and put them where they belong, and unload and load the dishwasher!
"For God so loved the world that He gave His only Son that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
Although you are still too young to understand what it fully means to accept Christ as your Lord and Savior, you do know that Jesus loves you and that He died on the cross for you. When we play with the resurrection eggs at Easter time, you shout "Jesus is ALIVE!" as loudly and joyfully as you can when we open the last egg! You sing praises to Jesus every chance you get (at church, at home, in the van) and you recognize when others are singing for Him as well. When we hear a song on the radio, you tell me "They are singing for Jesus!" Hannah, it is so amazing to see your love for Jesus at such a young age. I am so excited for the day that you accept Him as your personal Savior!
"For He will command His angels concerning you to guard you in your ways;" Psalm 91:11
In the summer of 2010, we discovered that you have a rare allergy to cold temperatures; a condition called Cold Urticaria. You were swimming in a small pool in the backyard with Avery and Logan while it was filling with very cold water from the hose. After awhile, your legs turned very red and had white bumps on them. You got very sick! As I tried to get your clothes on you, you couldn't sit up by yourself and you said your chest hurt. I was so scared because I didn't know what was happening! God protected you in this very scary situation. You were able to get warm while I talked to the doctor and He later lead me to understand what had happened to you. We are so thankful that the Lord kept you safe that day!
"And so we celebrated because the Lord had indeed worked miracles for us." Psalm 126:3
We are so proud of you, Hannah! You are learning and accomplishing so many things! You are able to sing several Bible verses and say the Pledge of Allegiance all by yourself! You are also getting very good at doing puzzles and drawing. It has been alot of fun to watch you grow into an independent little girl. One of your favorite things to do is choose your own clothes and get yourself dressed.
Singing in church on Easter 2011 | Worship the Lord with gladness; come before Him with joyful songs." Psalm 100:2
Hannah, one of my greatest joys is hearing you sing praises to Jesus. It brings happy tears to my eyes almost every time! You are not shy about singing and I love that about you. You are so confident when you sing and do actions in front of others! One of your favorite songs is one that you learned in preschool: My God is so big, so strong and so mighty There's nothing my God cannot do!
"And this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also - not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ," 1 Peter 3:21
Hannah, you were dedicated to the Lord on September 5, 2010 at the Church of the Nazarene in Fremont. Daddy and I stood up with you, Owen and Pastor Tom in front of the whole church. We talked about our commitment to raise you and Owen how God wants us to and to provide every opportunity possible for you to know and learn about Jesus. Then Pastor Tom sat down and talked with you about Jesus. Both you and Owen were given Bibles and the whole church prayed for our family. It was a good day! .
"Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing." 1 Thessalonians 5:11
God has blessed you with so many people that love you, Hannah! "I love how loving and kind you are and how you are so thankful for everything! You also have a beautiful smile." Grammy "My favorite things about you are your excitement and love that you show for your family and friends and for life in general. Also, your smile, your laugh, and your strong willed personality!" Auntie Leah I love that you are my cousin and that we play together." Avery "The meaning of your name is 'Gift from God' - you are truly that to our whole family! After your Mommy and Daddy waited for so long for you, God sent them the perfect little girl and there hasn't been a dull moment since! I also love how you love books!" Aunt Cherie "Hannah, you are SO special for SO many reasons, one being your kindness. Even as a four year old you are always thinking of others. You have a very big heart and have so much to offer the world. I love you!" Bailey Kate "I love every little thing about you, from the song in your heart to the blue in your eyes, just like Daddy's. You light up my life every day and I thank God for you." Daddy
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Galatians 5:22-23
You are only 4 years old and I already see God working in your heart to produce the fruits of the Spirit. Some of them that I see everyday are: LOVE - You randomly come to me and give me hugs and kisses just to let me know you love me! You show love to your friends by being affectionate toward them. You love to hold hands and give hugs! JOY - You are exuberant in showing your excitement about Jesus, special treats, and fun activities. Your whole body shows your joyfulness with jumping and shouts of excitement! KINDNESS - You make others feel good by complimenting them! You are constantly telling people, "I like your hair" or "I like your shirt" or "I like that necklace." You are also very good about sharing your things. Whether its a toy or a special snack, you are willing to give some of what you have to your friends and family. GOODNESS - You are very thankful for the blessings in your life. Whenever you are given a gift, big or small, you are incredibly grateful and always tell the person THANK YOU many times with a big hug to show your appreciation! I see you learning obedience. It's not always easy, but you are able to do what you are asked and not complain about it! SELF-CONTROL - This one is coming along a little slower than the others (it's a hard one!), but I am so proud to see it developing in you. When you are told "No" you are remembering more and more often to reply with "Ok" instead of asking again or throwing a fit.
