Here is Ebert School in 1924. Look.!Do you notice how peaceful it is? There are no cars. Maybe this picture is Saturday.

Now there are more trees and more traffic. They have added a new section and a playground. And GREAT students.

This is the Radio Pharmacy at 2601 Welton Street. It was built in 1940. Coach D's father used to buy ice cream here.

Now the drugstore sign is gone and it is an apartment building. The doors have been turned into windows. No more ice cream, right?

This is the Equity Savings Building on Welton Street. It was built in 1908. It was a bank. People's money was safe in a safe.

Now the building has a Wells Fargo sign. Is the money still safe in a safe? If you look closely you can see they added hanging lights.

Here is the Luthe house. It is two stories. In 1880, there were logs bordering the yard and a tree.

Great Grandparents | Parents | Grandparents | As you can see, the house was destroyed... and it is now the Deep Rock Water Company. The tree is gone too. Where do the Luthe family live now?!

Here is the George Kramer house in 1880. It was a big house with a fence and lots of trees. What did Mr. Kramer do to make that much money?

Look at the house now.!They remodeled. Do you see all the metal work on the second floor?

As you can see these are the La Veta Apartments from 1910. Don't you wonder who lived here?

The apartments have become a parking lot.!Why would anyone tear down a place for so many people to call home.!!

This was the Dean Heart House on the corner of Welton and 20th streets. It was so big. I wonder how many children lived there?

The house is gone. Now it is The Lincoln, a big apartment building that is 10-20 stories high.

 Chapter Two Downtown Denver \

This was a four story building called the Adams Hotel. It was shorter than today's Grand Hyatt. It was a triangular-shaped building on the corner of California Street.

It is now a 27-story building called the Grand Hyatt. It now has a parking garage.

Welcome to the Ambassador Hotel. Notice the road in front of the hotel is dirt. Also, the entrance door has eight windows.

Look how many windows have been added. Notice how the building has grown"by about 25 stories.

Welcome to the Colorado Building. Look at how the old building was uniquely shaped.

The new Colorado Building looks like a castle because of the decoration on top. I wonder why the building has not been torn down after all these years.!

This is the Citizen's Mission Building. Notice how the building has 3 stories and tall windows.

The new building has 33 stories and is an apartment complex with parking. It has modern designs and is made of reflective materials.

This is the Railroad Building. We think it was used for checking in and out of the trains.

The new building has lots more windows. It looks more fancy than the old building.

This building was the Daily Mining Record Offices. The old building was smaller than the new building.

Great Grandparents | Parents | Grandparents | Today, it has 26 stories. It was rebuilt and is now called Larimer Place. It is used as an apartment building.
