FC: Sleeping Beauty (What happened next) By: Anna Colvin
Many people know who sleeping beauty is, but what they don’t know is what happened after the prince woke her up from that sleeping curse. All we know is that they live happily ever after. But do they? Are they really happy?
Though Sleeping Beauty was not her name, many people called her that because of the terrible sleeping trance she had once been in. Now she was standing in front of the mirror in her wedding dress. The day was finally here. She had been waiting to marry the prince that woke her for a long time now. But she was now starting to think otherwise. “Is this really true love?” she thought. “A wedding just because he kissed me and saved me from a hundred years of sleep?” It seemed very silly to marry someone because of those reasons and those reasons only
Maybe she didn’t love him like she thought she did. Maybe this wedding was a mistake. Maybe she was wasting everyone’s time. She would have to think fast. But time for thinking was over and it was time to start the ceremony
She had a beautiful dress that traced the floor as she walked. She had small pale pink flowers in her golden hair. All the guests were watching her now. She knew they would but wished they'd stop. All the eyes on her made her uncomfortable. She wasn't even sure if marriage was what she wanted with this prince!
But that didn't matter. Just then a loud bang could be heard at the back of the church. The doors had been thrust open, and a short woman was storming down toward Beauty. She opened her mouth, and through clenched teeth, said, “You're alive. You were supposed to die! I knew you would prick your finger! Yet you didn't die! Another witch softened my curse to sleep. So now since she changed my curse I will fix it to what it should’ve been! Death!”
No one knew what to say or do. No one had time. The little women muttered something and before the guards could take her away Beauty was lying on the floor with her eyes closed once again a deep, deep sleep It was not death like the witch had said. No one knew why.
