10: RECOMMENDATION I thought this book was extremely well written. This story was like my life in someone else's body. Maleeka was teased through out the book because of her skin tone. When I moved to Florida I was bullied because I was light skinned. But in the end people came to realize that a persons skin color does not determine the type of person they are. And in the story everyone came to see Maleeka as not just some really black girl but as a person.
