Oh hi, I'm Titus, bet your wondering what I'm doing huh? I'm getting ready to go on a mountain bike ride!
For me, being up in the hills on my mountain bike is awesome! I can barely wait to be racing down the dirt trail with my knobby tires buzzing below me and feel the fresh wind on my face! Whoosh...
There are a few things I need to get ready before my ride. | First, I need to get all of my gear together.
Bike Gear: -Mountain bike -Helmet -Hydration pack or water bottle -Snacks -Spare tube
Wow, that looks like a lot of stuff. Sometimes I even need my biking armor, a compact bike pump, tire levers, and patch kit but today my crew and I are sharing the load.
 Now then, what to wear?
 - Bike Shorts -Riding jersey -Bike gloves -Sun glasses -Compact rain jacket | Clothing Checklist: | I like wearing my sunglasses because they protect my eyes. Plus I think they look pretty cool.
Woo hoo, its time to hit the trail! Which reminds me, I should review some of the words we usually use when we bike, just so I don't forget.
Common bike lingo: Air: Space between the two tires and ground. Bail: To quickly jump off the bike when in possible danger of crashing. Bomb: Riding really fast downhill. Bonk: When you are overly tired or in need of fuel. Death March: A long endurance ride usually involving allot of uphill riding. | Double track: A trail wide enough for two people or bikes. Endo: Flying over the handlebars and going end over end. Fuel: Healthy snacks or water to boost your energy. Granny gear: The lowest/easiest gear on your bike. Single Track: A trail just wide enough for one bike. Trail Head: The beginning of a mountain bike trail. | In time I think I can remember all that.
Now that I have everything together we can go for a ride! | Are you coming too?
Remember to keep the rubber side down, stay safe and have fun.
