S: 2011 "My Journey to Find Me"
BC: I'm back home for now but the wonderlust is still there, just under the surface...until my next adventure...
FC: The Trip of a Lifetime! | 2011 "My Journey to Find Me"
My very own Home Away from Home & Restaurant! | I managed to inspire the traveling fast-food junkies with my Super-food Smoothies :)
Bryce Canyon... Magnificent!! | I had seen Hoodoo's before but this took my breath away:)
The landscapes I saw were so diverse. This is between Bryce Canyon and the Grand Canyon :)
My first view of where I would hike down into the Canyon from, was spectacular! Once past all the switchbacks, the terrain was pretty easy and very picturesque! My guides, Matt and Sam are such knowledgable people and are very passionate about the Canyon :) HAVASU FALLS...ABSOLUTELY MAGNIFICENT!
Day two, we ventured farther down stream to Mooney Falls...a bit tricky getting down, tunnels, ropes, ALWAYS have three points of contact! | I made it with all limbs and nervs in tact :) | Picnic on a sandbar amongst the most beautiful rapids anywhere. MAGNIFICENT!!! | Piper and Halsey, some of the most delightful children I have ever met and I know children! Great hikers, they challenged us adults :)
The area between Mooney and Beaver Falls is amazing...I will be going back there some day soon. God and I have a date to visit there again! :) | This cave comes complete with ferns, a shower and the prettiest view I've ever seen :)
Because of Matt, I have photographic memories of the beautiful scenery and the wonderful people that helped to make this adventure so perfect!
Whitewater rafting on the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon! Rated from 1-10 we rode 4's, 6's and 7''s ...very wet, very cold, very exciting. I got a birds eye view while being choppered out :)
After leaving the Canyon, I decided to head to Jerome and Sedona, I had been there in Dec. of last year and loved it! After a wonderful day I ended up leaving for Flagstaff in the dark and missed some beautiful scenery so, I did what any free spirited woman would do, I went back in the morning and got these fabulous pics of the beauty of route 89A ;)
New Mexico, here I come! The diversity once again astonishes me...these pictures were taken one right after the other within only a few minutes!
Santa Fe has the most fabulous art galleries! | Check out Canyon Road...dozens of the most fabulous galleries line the street. These are a small sample of my favorites :)
I was hoping to see the Enchanted Mesa, but is was closed to visitors for religious ceremonies. The drive wasn't a waste...I saw this fabulous sunset and got to chat with a very nice State Trooper who invited me to "slow down" ;)
OJO CALIENTE Mineral Springs Resort & Spa What a find, just an hour North of Santa Fe | Mud up, bake and then soak in the mudwater pool...what could be more fun and relaxing! There are seven Geothermal Mineral Pools, fabulous food and even some stunning hiking trails :)
I traveled from New Mexico to Colorado. I met a lovely man at the spa who suggested this route...always talk to the locals, they know! Rock, meadow, trees, barren...all breathtaking!
Good thing I did this journey alone, I think I stopped every two minutes to take pictures...would have driven a travelling partner CRAZY!
I got up REALLY early one morning for this...Sunrise @ Black Canyon...so pretty. From there I went to check out Colorado National Monument :)
I thought when I left Arizona, I'd be leaving the beautiful red rock behind...so happy I was wrong! There I stood, at 11.000ft seeing it all!
After leaving the Colorado Monument I enjoyed more incredibly beautiful landscapes. I headed to the Glenwood Springs area to check out Hanging Lakes :)
The hike up was strenuous but beautiful...saw my only snake of the whole trip and then this amazinly gorgeous place...so much like Grassi Lakes, Canmore Alberta...unbelievable!
This is Sulphur Hot Springs...a couple of stories to tell here :) I was sound asleep in my van, when someone parked beside me opened his door, hitting my van and waking me. I immediately sat up and looked out to see him drop his pants, step out of them and proceed to turn around, bend over with what seemed like his butt right in my face while he rumaged for dry pants to put on! Remember, he has no idea anyone is in the van and that he is putting on such a show. I was kind and said nothing... :)~ The next morning after enjoying the hot pools I was backing out of my parking spot, shoulder checking like the good driver that I am and who do I see...NO WAY! It's Matt, my guide and camera finder from Havasu Falls. The universe brought us back together, apparently we have things to learn from eachother still..Big hugs and smiles all around! :)
So much to see...I zipped through Wyoming on my way to South Dakota and the Black Hills. Just outside of the town of Hot Springs is a place called Cascade Falls...pretty little swimming hole :)
I did the touristy thing...Wind Cave...No, I didn't have to squeeze my butt down that hole! | This is called Box Work. It is very rare! It is created when Calcite forms in the cracks and acts as mortar and then the soft limestone washes away. | Crazy Horse They were blasting when I was there! | Mount Rushmore
Back to Wyoming to check out Devils Tower and then with nightfall, heading for home :)
I left Buffalo South Dakota at 3:45 am and arrived at home at 2:15 pm...I guess it was time to get back to my family, friends and home!
...but not for long...I was home for about five days and then off again. I took in a seminar in Calgary with Andy Dooley on Manifesting, FANTASTIC! From there I decided to visit friends and family between there and Kelowna...Canada is such a beautiful country!!! :)
North America is my home and I LOVE the beauty and diversity of its landscapes and people! | The rock, lakes, meadows, falls, deserts, foliage, fields, colors, flowers, animals...
I'm proud of how Banff National Park builds over passes for the animals...truly kind and compassionate to nature. The patch work quilt designs of the praries is something that I don't ever want to take for granted...always GRATITUDE!!!
