3: The Capital Building | The Train Station
4: Visiting the town of Estes Park and getting some ice cream.
5: Got up early and took down tent and campsite. Drove into park and looked around for a bit before horseback riding. Went to Moranie Park Stables for a two hour ride. 7: We saw a lot of elk on a hillside of one of the slopes we stopped at and they were very small. 8: Alec and Claire exploring the Indian Dwellings.
9: The ancient ruins have been restored so tourists can walk through. We walked around and checked out their museum and huge gift shop. | Indian Cliff Dwellings

12: Highest Bridge | Drove out to Royal Gorge. It was actually set up like an amusement park. You pay an admission fee, and can partake of all the attractions. So, we walked out onto the bridge, took the air tram across the gorge, took the incline railway down to the bottom of the gorge, and walked around. | Royal Gorge
13: Always a New Adventure | Royal Gorge One of the Highest Bridges in the World | Steve wanted to drive across the bridge, so the kids and Kristi took one more tram ride across the gorge, and Steve drove over and picked us up. I tried to take a picture of us driving across the bridge, but the park police told us to keep moving.
14: We went to Pikes Peak on the Cog Railway. It takes 1 1/2 hours up to the top. They only give you a half an hour at the top, and must ride back down. | Bag of donuts.
15: We were told to try the donuts at the top, that the recipe only works at 14,000 feet. We got some, and they were OK. | Colorado Springs | Pikes Peak Colorado
16: Our hike out to the Siamese Twins was about 1/2 mile long, and it was one of the best views of the mountain range.
17: We drove around and stop at the visitors center and it had a great view of the park. Then we went on a hike to some of the named rocks such as Cathedral Spires, Sentinel Rock and Balance Rock. | Balance Rock

20: Getting Back To the old West. | Moved on to Dodge City where we saw many old buildings. Inside there were a lot of nice displays of all the different businesses of the time. We ate at the restaurant in town and had sarsaparilla and root beer floats. | Dodge City | Dodge City
