32: JéanMarie tried escargot for the first time & said it tasted like pepperoni pizza! | Maburl was surprised that her snail loving granddaughter took live snails from Labadee to keep as pets. Since it's illegal to bring live snails through U.S. Customs, JéanMarie had to throw them overboard under cover of the moon!

40: July 3, 2011 (Day 4) Old San Juan, Puerto Rico We explored El Morro Fort which guards the entrance of San Juan Harbor. Construction on the fort began in 1765 & took 150 years to complete. The U.S. Navy bombarded the fort in the Spanish-American War (1898). The Fort could not withstand modern weapons. Spain ceded ownership of Puerto Rico to the U.S. in the Treaty of Paris. | Lighthouse | Garita or Sentry Box

45: El Capitolio de Puerto Rico (Capitol Building) Constructed 1925-1929 The "Avenue of Heros" is across the street & has 9 life size bronze statues of all sitting U.S. Presidents to visit Puerto Rico. Other photos include pig roasting, special leaf photo by Arianna, memorial for soldiers that died during WWI, and large Ficus tree. | 45
46: July 4, 2011 Day 5 Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Beautiful, very hilly, lush & green. Bottom right on next page is a chicken in the ferns. Chickens were running free in the streets!
48: July 4, 2011 Day 5 Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Jeff, Sally George & Pat took the Saphire Beach Tour which included snorkling and beach. Lots of Iguanas looking for food
50: July 4, 2011 Day 5 Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Jeff, Sally George & Pat after the beach tour we stopped in down town St Thomas for lunch at Coconuts and then shopped and bought jewelery.
53: WEYMAN THE SEA MONSTER | July 4, 2011 (Day 5) Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Don & Weyman's families took the snorkling tour in St Thomas. Snorkeling for the first time at Turtle Cove was a blast. We saw endangered Green Sea Turtles graze sea grass off the ocean bottom & saw one poop! If you touched one it was a $10,000 fine. 54: Tuesday, July 5, 2011 (Day 6) Samana We left the ship on a smaller boat to reach the island. It was extremely hot & not much to see so we went back to the ship. Jeff & Sally, Don & Nancy, and Bill & Carla took the Horseback riding tour to the water falls
55: Samana is severely economically depressed. School age children met us at the dock and tried to sell us everything from bottled water, shells, to hand made palm frond bracelets. | 55

62: July 6, 2011 (Day 7) We spent the day on Labadee Island off the north coast of Haiti. This island is Royal Caribbean's private resort. Some went snorkling at the water park, Pat & George took the water tour of the Island. Jeff & Sally went on the Dragon Trail Coaster
63: Our snorkeling guide fed the fish so we could see them. The turtles are Green Turtles. We learned quickly that when your mask leaks the sea water mixes with your sun tan lotion and it burns your eyes. JéanMarie spent a lot of time yelling about how much her eyes burned! Arianna was fearless swimming next to her daddy! | 63
