S: Fiji Honeymoon 2010
BC: Goodbye Fiji. Thank you for an amazing Honeymoon. 2010
FC: FiJi Honeymoon
Fiji was an absolutely wonderful place to spend our honeymoon. There were only 10 couples allowed on the island, We had our own private Bure with an immaculate view of the desolate beach which was ours to roam free for 5 whole days. When we arrived, we were greeted with a ley and Fiji water then put onto a boat to our resort (Quamea). Once we arrived, we experienced our first meal on the island, enjoyed a Bula drink and were instructed on how to best adjust to the new time zone. After checking into our Bure, we went up into a jungle tree house and enjoyed full body massages to work out all of the stress of the 10 hour flight. The next days were full of adventure and relaxation. There was an activities board where you sign up for activities, tours and hikes. We did the jungle tour into the village, snorkeling and private candle lit dinners out on the beach. There were little frogs during the day (everywhere) and BIG frogs at night. David had one as a friend and he played with him for a while.
Waking up every morning was surreal. We had room service and were greeted with a newsletter that welcomed us and sent us off... it kept everyone knowing what was on the agenda for the day - if you wanted to be a part of an agenda that is. Fijian time was also very intriguing, it's referred to as island time because there were no clocks or electronics at all. Everyone just came and went as they wanted. Amazing! Throughout our journey we enjoyed many of the local traditions including meke (traditional kava ceremony) we drank kava, learned to break a coconut, enjoyed fresh cooking classes, and purchased some hand made crafts from the locals. One of the couples we traveled into the village with purchased a pearl necklace and the Fijian woman that made it cried in joy. Qamea was a wonderful island to visit and an experience that we will hold dear to our hearts forever. Thank you to all of our family and friends for making this honeymoon so special with their gracious gifts . ~Mr. and Mrs. Auterson ~
In Route to the Honeymoon of our dreams.
 Kava any one?
 Let's Party Fijian style!
 Absolutely surreal feeling...
 Who could ask for more?
An amazing experience of enlightenment. Although they don't have much for themselves, the Fijian people are so kind, generous and welcoming. They were rebuilding from a tsunami when we came to visit; yet they fed us their food and sang for us. What a true blessing.
When the drum beats start, it's time to Eat!
The food on the resort was so fresh and wonderful. The Bula drink and butter were amazing. Fiji beer was delicious.
Room service daily. Now that's Paradise!
The eggs had a orange yolk and were very delicious. The coffee from the french press was so fresh and their salmon benedict phenomenal.
The red coconut on your stairs means do not disturb.
