S: Paris, Beaune, Philly & NYC - November 2010

FC: Food & Wine Travels | November 2010 | Paris, France Beaune, France Philadelphia, PA New York City, NY

1: The trip began in Paris with some typical sight-see'ing ..... | ... along with some, not-so-typical sights. | Polar bears! | Koalas too!

2: good eats | We visited our favorite falafel joint, L'aus du Falafel & brought a bottle of wine back to the apartment in the Marais. Here's a picture of breakfast in the morning and a crepe.

3: The next day, we dined like kings at Robert et Louise on a steak cooked over an open fire in the dining room & duck-fat fried potatoes.

4: La Duree | we made it | And no trip to Paris would be complete without a visit to La Duree

5: FOOD PORN!

6: We were lucky enough to be in Paris for the release of the 2010 Beaujolais Nouveau.

7: We started drinking at one little bar, then drank and ate at Le Verre Vole (The Stolen Glass)...

8: being silly | Then while waiting to be seated for dinner, we wandered into yet another bar!

9: La Chateaubriand | This is us -mostly sober- at La Chateaubriand. Little did we know, the restaurant was soon to be rated #9 in the world in 2011.

10: And the dishes started coming... ... there were too many to count!

11: Is it she? Dana Cowin, editor of Food & Wine Magazine, guest judge on Top Chef? Yes! It's her!

13: the wne | Now that's the sign of a good meal and a fun night!

14: The Hike | On the way to Beaune | a | Moutard store in Dijon

15: We arrived in Beaune, and were staying at one of the nicest hotels right downtown: Le Cep. It was 2 blocks off the main square, and our balcony overlooked the street, which was lit by festive white lights.

16: Wine Tasting @ Patriarche

17: Over our 4 hours of tasting at Patriarche Per et Fils, we had some AMAZING wines! The tasting included: 1998 Clos Vougeot 1981 Volnay 1977 Aloxe Corton 1974 Morey-Saint-Denis 1960 Meursault Charmes (amongst many others)

18: Our first dinner in Beaune was quite the affair. Sandra will always remember the crab mousse | L'Ecusson

19: The next day we got up early and headed over to a converted church for oysters & duck.

20: Ma Cuisine

21: This was an amazing all truffle meal!

23: Street Eats! | Escargot, frogs legs, crepes, oysters....so good!

24: Le Montrachet

26: Burgundy | Uh, do you know where you're going?

27: Pommard | Volnay | Mersault | Though it was cold and rainy, we decided to drive around Burgundy. That's Clos de Vougeot!

28: PARIS | Before we knew it, we were back in Paris. One last night with the guys (and a terrible bottle of poppy liquor) and one last soiree with the girls, then it was good-bye France. Au revoir! A bientot!

29: Thanksgiving in Philadelphia | Pit stop in New York City for some yummy food!
