Heading to Santorini, Greece Another new country for us | No, this is not our ship!
Ways to get back down... cable car, donkey or walk in donkey crap! We took the cable car, which took forever because of all the extra tourists who were there instead of in Athens
Visiting beautiful Oia Santorini, Greece It was very crowded because of the riots in Athens, which caused all cruise ships to be sent to Santorini. It took some of the fun of touring away!!
Hanging off the edge to take pictures
Mario | Marionettes and sandals- I should have bought both and ended up buying neither.

 Corfu, Greece
We took a very long walk into town and then back to the ship!
Lots of shopping-but not for sandals!! Elizabeth and Terry should have told me the rules... "Santorini for sandals; Corfu for gold," before we left!!
Shopping for gold with Clive and Velia- I did get a beautiful necklace- a very special present from Hank
Our last stop...Milan. | We arrive there via train after a most interesting taxi ride through Venice | Always remember to punch that ticket!
Trains in Italy are usually never "Ritardo!"
Of course, we continued to walk in Milan, which was a much nicer city than we thought it would be. | Some of the statues in Milan | Across from La Scala
We stopped at Milan's famous opera house, La Scala. which wasn't open- not that we were planning on any opera!
 Milan Duomo
Catching a big race at the church, and Hank catching Italian hell for crossing over the line!!! | Hank's favorite picture! It depicts the grandeur of all that is Europe!
Continuing on our long walk... | An outdoor restaurant | Italian fashions are wonderful and expensive!
 Entering old fort
Sights around Milan...Italian pets,a Swiss influence...
The floor of a covered outdoor shopping area in Milan
 Goodbye Milan, Goodbye Italy
Flying over the alps | Flying over the Alps | Frankfurt Airport- another new country... does it count? | Volcano erupts again-our luck! | Visiting Santa! | Beginning our very long journey home!!!
This book is the last in the series of our trip of a lifetime and the celebration of our 30 years together I've mentioned many experiences as I put the book together; however, I wanted to include them all (the good and the not-so-good) One port I did not include was our stop in Dubrovnik, Croatia-that's because it was so beautiful that it has an entire book to itself! Others...Great entertainment: Motown singers,Fake Bee Gees, an unreal acrobatic act & the "Beatles" (I think these were all on this cruise!!!) We added new countries and even a new continent! Enjoyed a wine tasting (although, we still don't get it) | and another cocktail party for return cruisers I did win $65.00 in the casino (not much by Coopersmith standards on the same ship-but, at least, I didn't take a loss!) The continuation of great weather, except for some rain in Milan Finding a Mongolian grill, which they didn't have on the other ship, but, alas, no sushi! All the walking we were able to do; therefore, all the good food (including a late -night chocolate tart!) we could eat without gaining any weight Purchasing another Alexander Chen, although, the auctioneer was really pretty lame, and we still couldn't win a door prize even with an almost empty room!
Our surprise at how nice Milan was since it is an industrial city Extended leg room on our flight home & how much they fed us The BEST-our very interesting "back-street" tour of Venice after the cruise Some not -so -goods... Hank schlepping our luggage over the bridge in Venice to get to the ship (and we already had thrown some stuff away!) Our very old and opinionated table companions. How sick I became of hearing how wonderful Ireland was!!! Let's not forget the "beer, or was it wine, incident" the last night of the cruise Not receiving tour tickets until AFTER the first tour How great I did at the Motown trivia contest, hard to believe I used to work for them! After a bit, getting tired of cruise | food 9 Euros for a cup of coffee in Santorini The only language barrier we found was in Milan, when we were leaving, which led to us waiting in the wrong spot for the airport shuttle Possible riot in Milan train station-at least we weren't there the moment it happened All sorts of problems caused by things happening in other parts of the world while we were away... 1. Crowds in Santorini because of riots in Greece caused by collapse of Euro-taking 2 hours to get down on the cable car to the ship 2. Volcano erupting for the second time, which shut down
airports in Milan and Frankfurt, which led to many canceled flights and long delays that we were not aware of because we didn't speak the language. No boarding passes issued in Milan. Trying to get from Point A to Point B in the Frankfurt Airport on time (a very long distance, up & down, down & up...) including me pushing the wrong elevator button, which caused a good chuckle from all the people I sent in the wrong direction Not having stamps on our passports from Milan (how were we supposed to know?) after waiting in line forever and then almost missing our flight-making it by competing in our version of the Great Race! | because we couldn't fly | Finding out our 7 hour flight was going to be 10 1/2 hours because we couldn't fly across the Atlantic due to the eruption of the Volcano; instead we were going to the North Pole!Thought maybe we'd drop by and have a nightcap with Santa and the Mrs.! I did get to see 2 movies (not very good ones, at that!) A highlight...Seeing baseball for the 1st time in 5 weeks; however, it involved the following (at least it was a Yankees' game)...
Getting no wake-up call and getting little to no sleep (especially Hank ) before returning to the airport for our very early flight Having no cellphone during that entire time (never again!) Finally- arriving home after our drive from Tampa and then sleeping 3 days!!! Hopefully, we are going to do just that in November with our return to Barcelona and our cruise back!!! | Arriving in Washington,DC, where we waited in Disney-like lines to get through security because of the Times Square bomber of a few weeks before (I think we were up 24 hours at that point!) They lied when they said the would hold flights Having to check into a new Doubletree Hotel, where they didn't know what they were doing and it taking forever to check in People actually complaining about the difference quoted ($65) and difference charged ($69).We did not care at that point. That was after traveling on Dulles Airport's antiquated shuttle system and then waiting almost a half hour for the shuttle from the airport to the hotel | Back in the USA | Would we do it again?
