FC: Sweet Sweet Honeymoon | 20th Sept - 29th Sept 2010
Jake's . Treasure Beach, Huy and I went to Jamaica for our honeymoon. We went to two different cities and stayed at three resorts. Jake's was our first stop. It's a boutique hotel, located far away from the city, in a fishing village. We stayed there for four nights. We didn't move at all. It was very relaxing.
Walk through the front entrance, guests are welcomed by the blue blue water. Refreshing. Takes all your worries away with just one glance. While checking in, we were treated with a freshly squeezed watermelon juice. Yummy!
I had found Jake's before planning for honeymoon. I wanted to go to Jake's simply because I felt in love with these 3 little two-level cottages. We stayed in Octopussy #2, cute little yellow cottage in the middle.
Porch on the first floor. How I wish I could have a place like this by the ocean someday..
 Mesmerizing Sunrise
2nd Floor of our cottage is an open deck. There's a blue little cottage to our left and pink one to our right. It was all that I had imagine it to be. Gorgeous view from the top.
Huy felt asleep on the day bed. I wasn't sleepy. I got creative and made a mark on mr belly. heh
Sunrise on Treasure Beach, Jamaica Serene. Tranquil When can I have a little cottage of my own on the beach away from the crowd?
Breakfast @ Jake's Fresh squeezed juice, True Blue Mountain Coffee, invigorating ocean view. Laptop with internet access Perfecto!
Bar @ Jake's Since the first day of arrival, we've discovered the most tasty drink ever: freshly squeezed papaya juice with Appleton Reserve RUM. Soooo good!
Common Area. Courtyard. Restaurant. Pool side bar. Beach. Jake's
Rum was never my drink.. until I went to Jamaica. There, I drank Rum, exclusively. We would buy an entire bottle of rum, bring with us to the bar. I'd buy freshly squeezed papaya juice, and pour shots and shots of our Appleton goodness into it. It was sinful. It was so much fun! | POUR | STIR | What? It's all gone? Who drank it all??
can't get enough of the 2nd floor deck
Rock House | Negril, Jamaica | We left Treasure Beach and headed for Negril. We'll be staying at two different resorts there. Next stop - Rock House. Jake's 9.20 Jakes 9.21 Jakes 9.22 Jakes 9.23 Rock House 9.23 Rock House 9.24 Rock House 9.25 Rock House 9.26 Rock House 9.27 Catcha Fallin' Star 9.28 Catcha Falling' Star 9.29
Rock House is a beautiful boutique hotel, built on top of cliffs.
We stayed 4 nights at a Premium Villa. A private walkway takes us to our villa. Not only do we have our own personal porch, we also have our own personal jumping spots. These are the views from our space in front of our romantic villa.
Each Premium Villa sits on top of a cliff. The most unique part is that you can dive right into the water a few feet away from your room! | View from the main dinning room See the lady jumping into the water? That's our jumping spot - right in front of our villa!
Huy couldn't get enough of the jumping and swimming action. I've got to make learning to swim a priority, so I can jump in with him. I knew I'd love it, and I knew if I love it, Huy would enjoy it even more. He wouldn't need to take the inflatable tube out to the ocean next time!
So while Huy has all the fun swimming in the gorgeous ocean, I read (actually pretended to read) and sunbathed. | I did Yoga one morning. Loved it. | I can't swim, but I still had to climb down the ladder! I really need to learn how to swim. I'm missing out on so much fun.. not to mention swimming is a fun way to burn calories. And you know you need any help you can get when what I do most on vacation is eat!
Our villa. Our jumping spot. Our little piece of paradise.
By the pool. Big Waves that day
 Roaming around in Rock House.
One day, Huy decided to swim half way around the resort. He jumped down our cliff, swam all the way around the bay, passed the Massage Point, came up to the other end of the resort, went to the Jump Bridge.
He jumped down the Jump Bridge, and swam all the way around and back to our Villa!! Totally Impressive!
 Eat. Drink. Man. Woman.
Juicy Patty @ Downtown Negril. The most delicious and juicy patty ever! | Mr. WILSON.
Coffee & Condensed Milk | Sexy Bear | I didn't know that Jamaicans use Indian spices in their everyday cooking! | Curried Lamb. Curried OxTail. Yum! | Ackee & Saltfish. A very Jamaican dish. | @ Pushcart Restaurant
Ackee & Saltfish : Breakfast: Juicy Patty : Lunch Curried Ox Tail : Dinner All Day Long: Fresh Papaya Juice with All that Appleton Reserve Rum Goodness
Picturesque Rock House. A beautiful day for exploring. Albeit really hot ...
Catcha Fall' Star | Next Stop: | This resort is on the Western end of the beach/cliff strip. It's more low key. Decorated with lots of plants and flowers. Fantastic Fresh Papaya with Rum at the bar!
3 days left in our trip. Weather started to deteriorate First night at Catcha, waves started to show their might. By 2nd day, it had developed into a Tropical Storm. | We had a premium cottage, one of the two cottages that are closest to the ocean. From our porch, we witnessed our closest encounter of nature's rage. The footages we got on video was dramatic. I had never seen the wrath of raging sea.
This is the room where we evacuated to. There were no phone, no TV, and at times no electricity. Luckily, we were still able to order food from the resort's menu. That was all that we did. We ate, drank, read, played Chess, and hoped for the best. | The premium cottage we had booked. Next to the bar. Got Internet! | Tropical storm forced us to evacuate towards inland. This is our 2nd room in the resort.
By 2nd day, waves started to get massive. Bar was shut down. For better or worst, our cottage had the front row view of nature's might. By the end of the day, we were given two choices: stay in the cottage and have all the windows and doors boarded up, or evacuate to another room slight away from the shore but still in the same resort. We wrapped up our gears, said good by to the internet access that was only available in our cottage and the bar area, and headed toward our new room.
At one point, the waves were so fierce, that it crashed against the shore, and exploded right outside of our porch. That was when the resort decided to evacuate us | From Our Porch | The resort had survived Hurricane Ivan in 2004. They are experienced with running and protecting the resort in severe weathers. Since the storm worsened, they moved all the unattached furnitures along the shore to inland. After a few of the big waves barely missed our cottage, they came and moved the furnitures on our porch away. We knew then we would be next to move.
Presley has a two seater restaurant. You tell him a day before that you'd like him to make dinner for you. Second day early morning, he goes out to the local fish guys, buys fresh catches from the local fisherman, and makes it however you like. Fun & Yummy. 90USD.
