3: The Grand Canyon is located in the state of Arizona. It is a steep-sided canyon. | The Grand Canyon was carved by the Colorado River. The depth of the canyon is over a mile.
4: The Great Plains lie west of the Mississippi River and east of the Rocky Mountains. They are a flat area. They are mainly covered with prairie, steppe, or grassland. Some of the states included in the Great Plains are Kansas, Texas, and Nebraska. | Buffalo once roamed the Great Plains in large numbers.
5: The Ozark Plateau is located in the central part of the United States. It is located mainly in Missouri and Arkansas. | The Mark Twain National Forest is located in the Ozark Plateau.
