1: Vegas Baby!! Tim and Cortney were getting married on 10-10-10.. in Vegas! So we joined the party and flew to Vegas for 4 days. The wedding at the Viva Las Vegas chapel was beautiful and afterwards we had 2 days to explore Vegas on our own (the strip, the Lion King show, the outlet mall). We didn't gamble a penny and didn't party all that hard, but it was still WOW! Most of the wedding guests were staying at the Flamingo, but we chose the simple, cheap and quiet Super 8, just one block behind the strip. We enjoyed the lights and craziness of the strip (just avoided the smoky and noisy casinos, ha!), as well as the wonderful weather (around 30C) and the palm trees :)
2: October 9 ~ the flights We had smooth flights to Denver and to Las Vegas. At the end we got some great views on the desert landscapes near Vegas and on the airport you could start to gamble right away! At the Super 8 we chilled in the room for a while before meeting with friends on the strip. | Denver | sunrise over Regina
4: Meeting the rest Later in the afternoon we went to the Flamingo to meet up with the rest, then to Harrah's together (dinner buffet), had a first impression of the strip and spent the evening at the Flamingo. | Oh, when we left the hotel, we ran into our first Elvis! Picture time... he wanted Marlies to kiss him on the cheek, then locked her in his grip and turned his face towards her. EWWWW!!!!! Oh well, I guess we were in Vegas! And what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas! And Nico? He was taking the pics! ;) | Bellagio

13: October 10 ~ the wedding! We met the rest at the Flamingo and went to the Viva Las Vegas wedding chapel. It was great to see how the wedding factory works here! And it was short, but sweet. Afterwards we went to the Luxor with Grant, then to Smith & Wollensky for the wedding dinner.
32: New York New York | October 11 ~ the strip and The Lion King Time to do some serious Strip exploring! We got t-shirts at the Hard Rock Cafe, lunch buffet at MGM (where we also visited the lions, wow!!), went to the Sharkreef and the musical The Lion King at Mandalay Bay!

38: October 12 ~ the outlet mall, downtown Vegas and... more Strip! The hotel called a "cab" for us to take us to the outlet mall, and driver Starr made our day! She was a lot of fun and when she picked us up again, she decided to drive us around in downtown Vegas (without extra charge), where you find wedding chapels and old town charm on Fremont Street! Later we did some more exploring on the Strip where we went to the Mirage for their buffet and "vulcano eruption", Treasure Island for their pirate show (way too busy!) and the Venetian with their indoor "outdoor" canals and market place! | Premium Outlet Mall | Fremont Street

50: Lake Mead / Hoover Dam area | October 12 ~ leaving Las Vegas On our flight to Denver we had some great views of Lake Mead and the Hoover Dam area, and the Grand Canyon! Then the mountains in Colorado and last but not least: home sweet home Regina.
