S: NYC 2011 & 2012
BC: Ya'll Come Back Now, Ya Hear?
FC: Girls' trip to New York 2011 & 2012
After waiting around at the airport for a while, we grabbed a taxi and immediately after checking in at our hotel, our first stop for grub was at Juniors. The portions were huge and we were not disappointed. Known for their cheesecake, and man it is good.
Taking a bite out of THE BIG APPLE | Above: Naked cowboy. No pictures of Billy Elliott at the beautiful Imperial Theatre. Amazed by the premium cost of parking, and $5.00 water at the Theatres. What is worse, is we bought 3 of them!
Us: "We'll have the top 4 items on your board please." Bartender: "So, you want two of each?" | The Bodies Exhibition was awesome
Lincoln Harbor Ferry | The view from our hotel room in Weehawken, New Jersey
Walking to the ferry for the tour of the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island seemed like a great idea, but no protection from the brutal sun, and NO water and a road to nowhere was an adventure in itself.! | The train ride was a trip watching the Jersey girl trash talk the uniformed officers, and get a ticket for not purchasing a full fare ticket.
5 dollar baseball cap from subway vendor. 20 dollar official Yankees T-shirt, Add in a free spit bath in the ladies room at Yankee Stadium and you have a WINNING combination.
NEW YORK YANKEES @ home in the Bronx
When purchasing tickets to see the city sky line from The Top of the Rock, we chose to buy an additional guided walking tour. By far, one of the coolest tours we will ever take. Enjoyed the rich history regarding the Rockefeller family, business, buildings, and amazing artwork.
From left to right: Tavern on the Green, stairs leading to famous FRIENDS fountain, Alice in Wonderland statue, Gray's Papaya hot dogs, view from Time Warner Center while we ate breakfast from Bouchon Bakery, last picture is of John Lennon's Imagine mosaic.
EARLY WALK + PARK = FABULOUSNESS
The Mall , Belvedere Castle, Central Park Boat House & Stewart Little Pond
WE HAVE A LOVE AFFAIR WITH NEW YORK | TAO - 2011
REPEAT VISIT TO TAO. THIS YEAR WE ACTUALLY ORDERED OUR OWN FOOD, & SAW BILLY RAY CYRUS VIOLINIST, ATE WITH JUWAN HOWARD, AND MET MIAMI HEAT GUYS.
We found a couple of local joints and loved each one. Barney Greengrass was an awesome Jewish bakery and small store. The Black and White cookie and bagel sandwich were a hit. Our waiter who we call David Barney Greengrass reminded us of Buddy Holley and he was a musician. Eisneburg's is located in the Flat Iron District and their hamburger helped settle our stomach for a bit. | Serendiptiy's Frozen Hot Chocolate
After missing out on Serendipty twice last visit, we had reservations and knew to ask for Angel. However, we weren't feeling to swell, and as good as their famous frozen hot chocolate was, it reminded both of us of a fancy Wendy's frosty. We had to order a sandwich that sounded like it would be good, but we never even ate it; nor did we remember to give it to a homeless person. Well, one thing that is checked off our must do list. | Upper East Side | Flat Iron District
Chelsea Market was a great place and we have put at the top of our "must do" for next year!
Dude...those are my sheets! Super cool place and we don't want to leave.
IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY YOU CAN SEE OUR VIEW FROM THE MARRIOTT MARQUIS ON A NORMAL MORNING, AND THE ONE ON THE BOTTOM IS FILLED WITH RUNNERS FOR THE BEGINNING OF A 5 K RUN ENDING IN CENTRAL PARK ON CINCO DE MAYO.
Only ordered the first 3 items this year. :) ULYSSES is so good, we could visit each year. GREAT FOOD!
NEW YORK METS @ HOME CITI FIELD FLUSHING, QUEENS | When telling New Yorkers we were going to a Mets game, the response was always the same... "WHAT, THE YANKEES NOT IN TOWN?"
