S: From "Si to Oui" Cruise 2010 A Trip of a Lifetime to Spain to Italy

FC: From "Si to Oui" Cruise May 2010 Barcelona, Naples, Pisa, Rome, Genoa, and Toulon

It was a beautiful day the Friday we left for our 1st Cruise to the Mediterranean. | We flew out of Port Columbus with friends in tow. Robin and Scott Jobes, Steve and Jenn Wright, and Ashley Jobes and Brandon Hess

We arrived in Barcelona on Saturday, May 15 early in the morning. After a few hours of sleep we boarded a bus and traveled to the center of the city called Las Ramblas; a shopping district in the middle of this wonderfully historic city.

 Barcelona, Spain

La Sagrada Familia is one of Barcelona's most celebrated architects, Gaudi's, most famous works. It is a Roman catholic church that has been under construction since 1882 and it is not expected to be complete until at least 2026.

 Naples, Italy

Naples was the only port city where we could walk into. Our first site upon entering was the Castel Nuovo. It was an amazing castle located on the outskirts of town. This city is famous for the creation of pizza. The streets are very close and the are filled with hidden alleys a bloom with much to do and see.

 Beautiful... | Beautiful..

 Naples, Italy May 16, 2010

The day we set off for Rome started bumpy because I forgot to load our camera with film. Luckily, Robin saved the day with her extra camera card and I got to capture some of the most amazing sites! These are pictures of the Roman Colosseum. Amazingly, it took only 7 years to complete and could seat up to 70,000. It was built in 80 A.D. | Rome, Italy The Roman Colosseum

 The Arch of Constantine

 ROMA May 19, 2010

St.Peter's Basilica and Vatican City Rome has the most magnificent sites to see. Among the many are Vatican City and the Basilica. We arrived with our tour group and waited in line for about 25 minutes to tour the church. St. Peter's Basilica has the largest interior of any Christian church in the world, holding 60,000 people. The sites were breathtaking to say the least. After site seeing, we then ate at a quaint little curb side ristorante.

 The Vatican May 19, 2010

 Pisa, Italy

What a wonderful, whimsical city! We loved Pisa! The tower began construction in 1173 and it wasn't finished until 1350. The area of Pisa consists of three buildings, the Bell Tower, The Baptistry of the Cathedral, and Piazza Duomo, also known as Campo dei Miracoli. As we were leaving, we wandered upon "Thomas." A fork bender who made beautiful, unique bracelets. Jim bought me two to remember our trip... "Mi Amore"

 Genoa | Welcome to Genoa

 May 21, 2010

Genoa is known for the birthplace of Christopher Columbus

 ...
