9: Launch spectacular--mass of humanity united-many tears and cheers. Went to Merritt National Wildlife refuge--manatees and mosquitos. Dixie Crossroads for fun delicious Rock Shrimp dinner.
10: 7/9/11 0 miles | Visited the Kennedy Space Center and Astronaut Hall of Fame. Both crowded with excited people! Jim and Keelyn rode Shuttle Simulator, watched IMAX Hubble 3D movie, and learned much from exhibits. Some sadness because of end of Shuttle, Orion is next project.
12: 7/10/11 249 miles 5:46 | Left Space Adventure for St. Mary, GA.Visited Ponce de Leon Lighthouse (233 steps to top) and played in the surf at Daytona Beach. Checked into Cumberland Island resort--swam, nice dinner, explored town, beautiful old cemetary. Ferry to Cumberland Island--wild ponies, BEACH, Carnigie ruins, lush forest, dolphins.

19: St. Louis Arch is amazing. We toured in late afternoon--perfect shadows. Huge museum, rode to top of Arch, great views. Stayed in Crown Plaza Hotel at Arch Park
20: 7/15/11 729 11:12 | St. Louis to North Platte, NB.Arch Museum is superb. Long drive today--massive flooding along the Missouri closed Interstate. Very sad--so much destruction in the Louisianna Purchase territory we learned about at Museum

Lots of miles with lots of memories..... | next trip?
