10: Allison carving the turkey. Check out the ring on her finger! | Greg and Allison had just gotten back from a trip to Paris, where they were engaged.

11: Homemade apple & pumpkin pie | Mrs. Slater made the traditional stuffing. Steve and Judi, friends of Mr. and Mrs. Slater, also came for Thanksgiving dinner. Among the turkey and stuffing was corn, mashed potatoes, broccoli/cheese casserole, cranberries, and sweet potatoes. | Allison made a Reuben Dip and a White Bean and Roasted Red Pepper Hummus for snacks. She also made stuffed mushrooms with spinach and goat cheese for a side dish.

12: The house all lit up at nighttime.

13: The Slaters are Pittsburgh Steelers fans!

14: Rather than going out and fighting the madness of "Black Friday," we went to visit the Schmidt's Tree Farm in Landenberg, PA to find a Christmas tree. I have never been to a tree farm before so I knew I was in for a really big treat. This is also the farm where Mike and Greg both worked for about 10 years.

18: We took a short wagon ride on the tree farm to get to where all the Christmas trees were. There were just rows and rows of different types of Christmas trees. I had no idea there was more than one kind of Christmas tree.

20: Greg points out the lucky winner. | We stopped for a quick picture with all the Christmas trees. | 2010

21: Since I had never cut down a Christmas tree before, I was given the opportunity. I was very honored to do it but quickly ran out of strength. Greg had to finish the job.

22: The tree that Mr. and Mrs. Slater picked was a Douglas Fir. There were at least 3 different types of trees on this farm. Mike and his dad carried the tree to be prepared for packing.

23: This was the coolest thing I had ever seen. Before the tree could be wrapped up for transportation, it goes through a process of being shaken up to make sure nests, bugs, and other materials didn't go home with the tree. Then it was placed onto a machine where a netting type of material covered the tree...all ready to transport home.

26: They had actual reindeer on the farm. Mike said that this was either Douglas or Fraser, he wasn't sure which one.

27: Headed back home with a Christmas tree!
