good eats | Pretzels, mustard, sausage and beer. Yum.

We were on a search for the perfect beer garden. This wasn't it....but we found it soon enough.

 hofbrauhaus

The ultimate in beer gardens... The Hofbrauhaus. Even Dondi had to drink a beer here.... and, we stole the stein.! It's a right of passage.

 being silly

Prague Town Square & the infamous clock.

 Peeing Statue. Weird.

The Jewish Cemetery in the city center was the burial place for thousands of Jews during WWII era. There were so many bodies that they started to stack the graves on top of each other. Spooky. Sad.

Prague Streets | Tiny Passage Way to a Café | The Ginger Rogers and Fred Astaire Building

 BMW Welt

 European Architecture -old and new-

Terezin, located about one hour north of Prague, is a red brick baroque fortress that was built in the 18th Century beside the Ohe River north of Prague to help defend the border of the Austro-Hungarian Empire against Prussia. The fortress never saw a battle, but it gained notoriety during WWII when it became a Jewish ghetto and prison; better known abroad by its old German name; Theresienstadt. The Ohe River is where the Nazis tried to dispose of bodies while the Russian allied forces were taking over the camp. This "town" still exists, but is quiet, reserved, sad. The concentration camp, crematorium, gas chambers and cemeteries also still exist - untouched.

Mostly deserted, the town sits unattended to, un-lived in and dead. This is not a tourist attraction...and definitely off the beaten path. There are no smiling people on the streets. There are no children laughing or playing. | Work Brings Freedom

 the barracks

very small rooms | solitary confinement

 death tunnel

multiple prisoners to one room/bed | torture device

Execution Wall. Notice the 4 imprints of bodies

The Jewish Memorial that stands today where numerous people died without proper burial

Rally Grounds in 1937. | Rally Grounds in 2010. | Nuremberg, Germany

Because of the city's relevance to the Holy Roman Empire and its position in the center of Germany, the Nazi Party chose the city to be the site of huge Nazi Party conventions - the Nuremberg rallies. The rallies were held annually from 1927 to 1938 in Nuremberg. Hitler specifically ordered the Reichstag to convene at Nuremberg to pass the anti-Semitic Nuremberg Laws which revoked German citizenship for all Jews. Between 1945 and 1946, German officials involved in the Holocaust and other war crimes were brought before an international tribunal in the Nuremberg Trials... The party would see their demise in the same city where they rallied for power for so many years. | Dondi standing on Hitler's podium.
