S: BOB and JEFF's WEDDING

BC: 08.07.2011

BOB and JEFF's WEDDING SWEDISH AMERICAN MUSEUM CHICAGO, IL | 08.07.2011

 BEFORE THE SHOW

Always the designer, Bob focuses the lights. | A job well done, it's time to start getting ready. Our personal waiter, Zach, is in the background

Setting the tables | Greg and Colleen | Going over some last minute details with one of our Best Men, Michael. | Bob and Colleen

Our | Our beautiful granddaughter, Esme, arrives. And, yes, she knows she has us wrapped around her little finger!

CHUPPAH MALFUNCTION! And that's why tech rehearsals are so important! | All is calm ... for now,

At the Box Office, programs await the arrival of the guests.

Our wonderful wedding prize from Andy and Duane ... a collage of our wedding invitation! Isn't it super?

Clockwise: Colleen, Michael, Mary Lucas, Scott & Jane, Andy & Duane, Gina

Meanwhile... upstairs, the boys get ready. Neither of us could manage the ties! Thank you, Cayl!!!

Bob's almost ready! | Checking the phone. Did Scheduling actually try to Junior Man me?? | Almost showtime! Jeff is pensive. Outside, it's just started raining. (Amy from "Company": "It's a sign! Thank you, God! Now explain it to him!")

The guests are all seated. Jane pins Jeff's boutonnièere in place. | Aaron gives his Dad some last minute advice.

Scott, Diane, Andy and Bill (our chuppah holders) enter the gallery. Justin captures it all on video. | Cayl and Michael await their entrance cue. | Flower Toddler Esme makes her entrance. Shoeless, of course, but that's our Esme!

 Places, please!

 IT'S SHOWTIME!

In the wings waiting to make our entrances | Gina accompanied us in with a beautiful rendition of Leslie Bricusse's stunning "Walk Through the World" from "Goodbye, Mr. Chips."

Emotions ran high as the kids did their readings. Doesn't Joshua look eerily like his father??

With Mary at the piano, Gina had her solo spot with an unforgettable version of "The Music That Makes Me Dance." | Bob's vows. Beautiful.

Jeff's vows. Also beautiful. We wrote our own. | Andy is verklempt.

Rev. Mark Anthony Lord. The service was beautiful and memorable from start to finish. | Bob's Ring. Bob was a little ahead of the game, and when Jeff said "Not yet," Bob replied, "I'll get it right the second time." Hmmm....whatever DID he mean?

Jeff' Ring. Nerves resulted in a swollen ring finger which resulted in the ring not going past the knuckle. Jeff fixed the problem. | The breaking of the Crate & Barrel wine glasses. "OPA!" No wait....I mean "MAZELTOV!" Oy!

 It's official!!!

Mark formally introduces us. Yeah, we're happy!

And the crowd goes wild! Taking our well-deserved curtain call!

 EAT! DRINK! SCHMOOZE! DANCE!

Now on to the serious business of eating and drinking. Passed hor d'oeuvres and champagne in the lobby while our wonderful staff transforms the gallery.

Gorgeous floral arrangements, courtesy of Jane give the musical-themed tables extra class!

The head table. Is anyone surprised by the show chosen as the theme for our table?

Food, glorious food! | Everyone raved about the exquisite food from The Hearty Boys, one of our favorite spots to dine.

 Schmoozing

More schmoozing as Esme makes the rounds with Grandpa Jeff

Our fabulous cake was baked by our younger son, Joshua. It's so nice to have a baker in the family! And, yes, it was divine!

Joshua checks out his creation. Elizabeth looks on. | Cayl and Michael guard the cake!

CAKE! (and about time, too!) | Michael instructs us on the safe and proper use of the knife. | Getting ready. The guests are taking their places to observe this time-honored tradition. Lois is getting her camera ready.

Tension mounts. Dustin, Rose Ann and Wayne look on. | The cut and.... | Success!!

Enjoying the cake. Jeff's comment: "Oh, my God! This is amazing!" Way to go, Joshua!!

THE TOAST (aka: an excuse to have more champagne!) | The toast was heartfelt and wonderful. Thank you, Boys!

SHALL WE DANCE? | The Grooms take to the dance floor. | So do the Best Men.

OMG! It's the Hora!! ("Tradition! Tradition! Tradition!!")

The Hora, in addition to the basic circle, also traditionally includes seating the wedding couple in chairs and then lifting said chairs. | Bob is a nice Jewish lad No worries on his end. Jeff, however, being a goy boy, felt somewhat differently. His reaction cannot be printed here, but can be heard on the video!

Emily and Andy | Marti Ann and Emily, the amazing mother-daughter dancing duo! | Duane and Andy cut a rug!

Andy and Duane | Colleen and Andy | The Geddes Clan: Dad Scott with Daughter Colleen and Mom Jane with Son Greg.
