Introduction By our presence here today we join together to support them in the relationship they are about to embrace. We are called to rejoice with them in their happiness, to be supportive of them in their times of trouble, and to keep them in our hearts and minds. Shannon and Reg, your marriage joins you in a life long union of commitment and trust; it offers you hope, and the promise of a love which is unconditional and true. To attain such love you must commit yourselves to each other freely and gladly for the sake of a deeper and richer life together. Marriage requires much generosity, empathy, patience and love from both of you. Marriage is a commitment with the realization that such a promise to each other sometimes means shared pain as well as pleasure, shared joy as well as disappointment. The strength of this mutual commitment will give you the confidence that your love will withstand any challenge that may lie before you. Shannon and Reg, you have declared your intention to make this a commitment of love. Know too, that marriage is not an end of growth, but a new beginning, where each of you will grow and develop while being supported, encouraged and inspired by one another. Reading of Corinthians 13:4-7 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, and always perseveres. Love never fails. Impediment Shannon and Reg, you have made it known that you wish to be joined in marriage, and no one has shown any valid reason for why you may not. If either of you know of any lawful impediment why you should not be married, you are now to declare it. Declaration of Intent Reg, will you have Shannon to be your wife? I will. Shannon, will you have Reg to be your husband?I will. Family Promise Reg and Shannon, as you are joining together as a couple and as a family, do you promise to love, cherish, and make your home a happy, safe and loving place for your family? Answer: We do Evocation to the Audience Family and friends, each of you here today has been invited because you hold a special place in the hearts and lives of Shannon and Reg. I will cherish our friendship And love you today, tomorrow, and forever I will trust you and honour you I will love you faithfully Through the best and the worst Through the difficult and the easy What may come I will always be there As I have given you my hand to hold So I give you my life to keep As long as we both shall live Exchanging of Rings These wedding rings serve as a symbol of the marriage vows you have just promised to each other. They are the outward and visible signs of an inward and invisible love which binds your hearts together. Reg, I give you this ring as a sign of all we share, and as a symbol of my abiding love, from this day forward. You may kiss the bride. I now pronounce you husband and wife. The Lords Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy Kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, the power and the glory. 64: Reading by Amanda Ackerman, Sister of the Bride You can give without loving, but you can never love without giving. The great acts of love are done by those who are habitually performing small acts of kindness. We pardon to the extent that we love. Love is knowing that even when you are alone, you will never be lonely again. And great happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved. Loved for ourselves. And even loved in spite of ourselves. Author Unknown

Speech by Lesley Orr, Matron of Honour Good evening, hello. For those of you who dont know me I am Shannons maid of honour Lesley and for those of you who do I will have my usual just put it by my purse. I would like to start off by saying congratulations to Shannon and Reggie. It has been an honour to watch my friend marry the man of her dreams. Shannon you look beautiful. Shannon is the most unstressed bride I have ever met. Through all the hiccups that arose planning this wedding she never flusteredI lost more sleep then she did. I am delighted to be standing by her side today. Shannon and I have been friends since third grade and we have shared a lot of laughs and a lot of tears. But I wont bore you with the details because in most stories I incriminate myself. So instead I offer some advice. The secrets to a successful marriage you learned in kindergarten Share everything Play fair Dont hit each other Put things back where you found them Say please and thank you Clean up your own mess (Shannon) Say youre sorry when you hurt someone Wash your hands before you eat And most importantly FLUSH So everyone please raise your glass to the bride and groom. May your love be like the wind. Strong enough to move the clouds, soft enough to never hurt, but always never-ending. Heres to love, laughter and happily ever after.
Speech by John Hibbit, Father of the Bride Id like to welcome everybody once again. I hope you enjoyed your dinner, I know I did. Id like to tell you a little bit about Shannon; about some of the ways that she is. One is easygoing; everyone that knows Shannon knows she is easygoing. It all started with her birth when she couldnt wait for the doctor to get there so she tried to come out on her owna little impatient she was. Shannon has a very good, very deep love of reading. That all started when she was very very young. One of her first Christmases she spent in the hospital in a tent with some cloth books. OK she didnt read much from them but thats where it all started for her. Shannon has an attitude that I like to call never surrender. I remember driving up to Buckhorn a small lake north of Peterborough where my parents had a trailer. We went up to visit them. Along the way I remember telling Shannon not to tough her seatbelt, hook her seatbelt back up, dont touch your seatbelt, stopping the car, getting out of the car doing her seatbelt back up, getting back in the car and telling her to leave your seatbelt alone. This was 4 or 5 times a trip that I had to stop the car and fix the seatbelt. I believe that shows how determined Shannon is at timessome might call it stubborn but I prefer determined. Shannon is a very giving person, and sometimes you dont see that from her. I remember being involved in some ringette tournaments. Shannon didnt play ringette although she did at times like to go to the arena and watch the boys that were coming in to go play hockey and talk to some of the girls brothers that were there to play hockey or watch their sisters play. So she was very involved in things like staying in the warm rooms because it was too cold to in the rink. I remember when we hosted a tournament and on more than one occasion Shannon would volunteer to work on the time clocks and that meant sitting in the arena for 2-3 hours at a time doing game after game and a lot of people would have been frozen and bored and cold and everything but she just kept on doing it. Ya she got paid for it but it never, never ever was enough for what she did. The odd thing is she never complained and I received a lot of compliments from people running the tournaments saying what a wonderful person she was for coming out and helping. I think that shows, gives you just a glimpse of the things Shannon can doif she wants to has been thrown in there. Understanding. Unfortunately for Shannon she has a very logical outlook on things. She may have inherited this from her grandfather, or not, that allows her to see things differently then you or I might see them. This sometimes makes it easy for her to understand that you need to change your opinion to match hers. Over the last few years I have noticed changes in Shannon and I believe they are all for the good. These changes started from before she met Reggie and have grown from there. Over the last few years Shannon has made me very proud of her many accomplishments, some small, but all very important to me. Shannon, you look beautiful on your special day, and I hope that youll cherish today for the rest of your life. Reggie, I would like to officially welcome you into the family. I have seen the balance that you have with Shannon and I know that you have been good for Shannon and I hope that it will last forever. Together you make great parents for my eldest granddaughter. I wish you all the best and happiness and the best the world has to offer to the two of you. Thank you.
Speech by Lil Warmington, Granny of Bride I'm Shannon's grandmother and Im very proud of Shannon and I love her to pieces and Reggie is the best thing that ever happened to her. And I love him dearly. I think his mother and I are going to have an argument over whose son it is hers or mine because I love him to bits too. I think they are going to be very happy and maybe someday well have another little great granddaughter for me or a son it doesn't matter. Here's your Mom...
Speech by Holly Hibbit, Mother of the Bride Hi everybody. I am going to be short and sweet because there are so many things I was told I cant say so I am on my best behaviour. But besides that, Shannon is a pretty wild girl. Her dad was talking about her attitude earliershe comes by that naturally on the female side. The talking she learned from her father. Shannon made a very wonderful choice in a man named Reggie, who brought a little boy into our life as well. I got a grandson now. I hope you both have a fabulous life together and always be friends. Take care and I love you both. Forgive me folks, one more little wee thing. Thank you Christopher for being part of our family as well.
Speech by Shannon & Reggie Weir, the Bride and Groom On behalf of Reggie and myself, I would like to say thank you to each of our guests for taking the time to come today. Its a privilege to be in the company of so many people that are important in our lives and were delighted to welcome you here to share our special day with us. We know for some of you it has meant making huge efforts and rearranging your personal lives as well as arranging travel and accommodation and we appreciate that from the bottom of our hearts. Families are an integral part of a wedding so I would like to give a very big thank-you to each and every one of you. Thank-you so much for being there throughout our lives and for the warm welcome we have received. I would like to thank both my grandparents for being here. But a special thank you to Granny for being the best strong female role model a girl could wish for. Thank you for always believing in me. Knowing that you are always standing behind me has given me all the confidence and security that I now bring into my marriage. And thank you for instilling in me a desire to never settle for mediocrity. I have taken that lesson to heart and I think that can be clearly witnessed today in my choice of husband and life partner. Kendahl, although we were closer as kids than as adults, you are still a very important part of my life and I want to thank you for being YOU, and for always being so supportive. You were so excited to be planning my wedding, that your take charge attitude and your unending support carried over to me as well THANK YOU - you made it so much fun! To my mom, my dad and Marilyn: thank you so much for all of your love and support. But, more importantly, I want thank-you for the last 32 years. As I look forward to the rest if my life with Reggie, I realize how important those years have been in making me the woman I am today. To Lesley, Jason, Shania, Christopher, Coltin, and Riley the wonderful people that stood up for us: Thank you! Thank you for supporting us and for putting up with us! This day has been a long time coming and we were only able to get here with your generous help and support! Thank you for being such amazing friends and family and for helping us to work out the many many details of our wedding. We have known you for our whole lives (in the case of Shania and Chris, Coltin and Rileyyour whole lives) Thank-you so much! We would also like to extend a special thank you to Aunt Debbie for our cake and Uncle Rick for taking the time to make us the wine. We are very grateful to you both! Id also like to thank Reggies family for raising such an amazing man. I know you had your hands full but you have influenced and molded him into the man he is today. I will always be thankful to you for him. I remember meeting Reggie (and Reg) when we worked at Northern Paperapparently even though we didnt get together for a while after that he got a head start on wrapping me around his fingerTimmys every morning, sour candies on my deskhe thinks it was because I wanted him, I will only admit to thinking he was cute and doing this as a form of bribery because I wanted him to do the work I had to give him all day long And now to my husband: I didn't know I needed you until I had you. You came into my life and completely changed it for the better. I dreamt of a man who would make me laugh and love me for me and be there through all of the ups and downs and now my dreams have finally come true. You have made me so frustrated, so annoyed, and even so angry but most of all you have made me SO HAPPY! So thank you Reggie for loving me without end. I hope I can continue to make you as happy as you have made me over the past 6 years. You are my biggest supporter, my best friend, my lover, and now my husband and my happily ever after. Just before I stop yapping so we can get on with things I would like to thank my chatterssome are here and some couldnt make it but you have all made my life (and that of Reggie and Lesley indirectly) more saneyou have supported me and listened to me vent throughout this entire process. Thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!! Again, thank you all so very much for being here to share our wedding day with us. We hope you will enjoy it as much as us!
