3: O | UR STORY | We met at the one place where I did not think I would find my future husband. After a year of being unemployed, Lauren went back to work at The Townsend Hotel, where she has worked on and off since I was 16 years old. After being an Architect and sitting in an office, Lauren was looking forward to not sitting in an office all day and back in the hospitality industry. I remember my very first day back to work. I was working in Salon 1 (Main ballroom) for a little party that consisted of a buffet and a pasta station. It was deja vu being back to work there and it was nice getting to know the employees that I had not previously worked with. After the party, the staff went ahead and ate dinner from the buffet and made pasta. I was sitting with one of the Captains and this cute dark haired guy named Dan. He had made a bow-tie pasta with chicken and asked if I wanted some. I said yes and took my fork and ate right from the plate. I felt like I had known him for a long time when I had just met him a few hours prior. After that, I noticed he kept flirting with me. He kept trying to talk to me, or would give me fake hugs and we would chit chat. I knew he liked me and I liked him, but I tried to play hard to get and act not interested. I always did want a tall, dark and handsome man :) We found out that we had a lot in common. He grew up in the Tampa area of Florida, which is where my brother lived for awhile. We went to rival high schools (me at Groves, he went to Lahser). And most importantly, his parents lived one street away in the same neighborhood where I was currently living in Fox Hills. He offered to carpool to work and that gave us time to spend time together outside of work and get to know each other. I kept him a secret for most people because I didn't want to spoil what could be, a good thing. It turns out, it was a good thing after all and we have been inseparable ever since. A year and a half later, we are not only sharing food, but sharing our lives together as we celebrated our marriage in a beautiful reception in the very same room where we first met. .

7: P | ROPOSAL | Dan proposed to me on October 7, 2010. That afternoon, Dan drove me to work at the The Townsend Hotel. On the way, he tells me he is going to go buy me a ring. Part of me was hoping it was true, part of me was mad at him for trying to joke around with me. I thought nothing of it again and went to work. As we park, and I noticed we were parked near the dumpster, Dan turns to me and hands me a ring. "Will you marry me". At first, I was shocked but then i realized he was just kidding. Plus, who proposes next to a dumpster! He came and picked me up at around 11pm. We went back to my apartment and I went into the bathroom and he sat on the sofa and turned on the TV. I noticed while looking in the mirror that my bedroom door was closed. It is never closed. Ever. I slowly push the door open and I just start shaking. There are tea lights and red roses everywhere. On the bed, the dresser, it was beautiful. Dan walks into the room and gets down on one knee and hands me a jewelry box. All I remember him saying is "I told you I was going to go buy you a ring" and he asks me to marry him. At this point, still in my tuxedo, I can't stop crying. I was beyond impressed at how he went and asked permission from not only my father, but also my mother. He made me the happiest I have ever been in my life.
