2: Dearest Vicky, As I reflect on the timing of our friendship, I am really thankful that God brought you into my life when He did. I think of when God took stuff away from Job, then gave him back even more... you're like the "even more" in my life and a gift that keeps on giving. Getting to know Ed is another wonderful part of this gift that keeps on giving! His kindness and thoughtfulness never cease to warm my heart. I'm so happy that you're with someone who's truly worthy of your affection. I'm encouraged and inspired by the way your love overflows into such genuine care for the people you encounter, as individuals and as a couple. As you start this journey into marriage, I pray that by His love and through His grace you and Ed would continue to become the people God intends for you to be as you shared with me recently :) Thank you for the honor of your friendship, I'm so grateful that my girl crush has become such a huge part in my life and she's even better in reality than in theory! 3: My Dearest Vicky, Congratulations on this joyous occasion! I’m so happy that I can share this moment with you and Ed as you embark on this amazing journey as husband and wife. You have been one of my closest friends since college and I’m so blessed to have known you all these years. I can’t express enough in words how important and influential you have been in my life. 4: Congratulations Vicky! | Who knew when Cindy asked me to move in to Apt 36, that I'd find another friend and confidant. I treasure all our late night talks and food adventures. Remember the first time you got "engaged" and I cried? I don't know either you or Ed without each other -- I'm glad I'll never have to! You are truly wonderful together. Congratulations and we will always have Paris, Apt 36, and Tito's Tacos.

5: Dear Vicky, Even though we are not officially sisters yet, I just want you to know that I've always thought of you as family. Throughout the years, you have always been there for me through thick and thin. Whether that be through boyfriends, school, or most importantly, my faith in God. Your advice is always from the heart, and I appreciate that more than anything. It has been a pleasure growing up with you and I can't wait to see what the future holds. By the way, the group picture of us at UCLA is one of my favorite memories with you and Ed...it is the beginning of the epic food journey! I decided to leave the pizza-stuffing/Diddy Reese-eating/Guppy-consuming pictures out for everyone's sake :) Congratulations on your wedding! I love you both dearly :) Love, Mear

6: Dear Vicky, I can't fully articulate how happy I feel in seeing you and Ed together. Much of it comes from how blessed I feel to have you as my friend, and how blessed I know you two are to have each other. To see how you've grown both as a couple and as individuals, and to witness how you appreciate and truly treasure one another. I feel as though I've watched something really beautiful grow and transform through different stages, each one so interesting and full of life. They are not all easy stages, but it is all the more amazing knowing that each process has its place and season for this relationship that has taken deep root. I love that you've both learned to love God more because of each other. There is so much to be thankful for as I look forward to sharing future journeys and lessons with you both! Like you once said to me about our bible studies, I always learn something from our conversations. Each one has been a gift. | It's hard finding pictures of us together, much less the four of us (you, Ed, me, Justin). We always talk so much, we don't take pictures! 7: Vicky, It's been such a joy having you in our small group! I've really enjoyed seeing your personality, passion, gifts, and leadership skills come out, whether in casual conversation or bible study. It's also been a blessing to walk alongside you and Ed and see the ways you are going in your faith as a couple. I pray that, as newlyweds, you will find the spiritual support you need in our small group and church. 8: Vicky - When we first met we bonded as out-of-staters and extension students at Berkeley. From there we became fast friends, great roommates, eating partners and soon you became like family. We've enjoyed eating adventures that would make competitive eaters cringe, we've scared ourselves silly talking about serial killers when the boys were out. I've learned so much fact (and fiction) from our conversations, and we've traveled the world together... well Paris and China so far. From G-House and Evan's Manor, to Apt 36 and beyond, it has been wonderful witnessing you and Ed's relationship grow and mature, and I am so happy that I can share the union of two amazing people whom Eugene and I love so much. I look forward to our adventures, laughs, memories and calories to come and know that I will always be here. Love, Cindy P.S. 10: Dear Vicky, I can't believe how fast time has flown since we met in high school. With so much that happened in between, I will always remember our dinners (so many secrets & planning!) late night talks, study sessions-all of which I wouldn't have been able to survive without. 13: Vicky, It's incredible to think how far back our friendship has gone. From those study hall periods of sharing homework, to our tearful 'see you laters' at graduation, and then to our yearly dinner reunions that never fail to go beyond 3 hours. I feel blessed to have shared that history with you and am extremely honored to know that I'll be a part of this special moment between you and Ed. When I look at you two, I see the epitome of what a relationship should be. It's obvious that you and Ed share a strong and beautiful bond; one that is filled with love, respect and joy. 16: From Katie Li: Mac and Cheese | Ingredients 2 tablespoons unsalted butter Good olive oil 1/2 pound shiitake mushrooms, stems removed and caps sliced 1/2-inch 1/2 pound cremini mushrooms, stems removed and caps sliced 1/2-inch 3 tablespoons cream sherry Kosher salt 1 pound pasta, such as cavatappi 3 ounces white truffle butter (recommended: D'Artagnan) 1/2 cup all-purpose flour 1 quart whole milk, scalded 12 ounces Gruyere cheese, grated (4 cups) 8 ounces extra-sharp Cheddar, grated (2 1/2 to 3 cups) 1 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg 2 garlic cloves, chopped 3 tablespoons freshly chopped parsley leaves 1 1/2 cups fresh white bread crumbs | Directions *Preheat the oven to 375 degrees F. *Heat the butter and 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large (12-inch) saute pan, add the mushrooms, and cook over medium heat for 3 to 5 minutes, until they are tender. Add the sherry and continue to saute for a few more minutes, until the sherry is absorbed. Set aside. *Bring a large pot of water to a boil and add a splash of olive oil and a pinch of salt. Add the pasta and cook for 6 to 8 minutes, until al dente. Drain well. *Meanwhile, melt the truffle butter in a large (4-quart) saucepan and whisk in the flour. Cook for 2 minutes over low heat, stirring constantly with a whisk. Slowly whisk in the hot milk and cook for 2 minutes, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon, until the white sauce is thickened and creamy. Off the heat, add the Gruyere, Cheddar, 1 1/2 tablespoons salt, the pepper, and nutmeg. *Combine the pasta, sauce, and mushrooms in a large bowl and pour them into a 10 by 13 by 2-inch baking dish. *Place the garlic and parsley in the bowl of a food processor fitted with the steel blade and pulse until they're minced. Add the bread crumbs and pulse to combine. Sprinkle the crumbs over the pasta and bake for 35 to 45 minutes, until the sauce is bubbly and the crumbs are golden brown. Serve hot. Its Barefoot contessa, but sooooooooooooo good. definitely worth the work. I never use the Truffel Butter

It was always so nice to see you and Ed when we had our gatherings with Cindy and Eugene. I think you are a wonderful, kind, and thoughtful person and I truly believe good things should happen to good people. I've only gotten to hang out with both of you together a handful of times, but each time I do I see how God has made you so well-suited for each other - and I'm sure He has also grown that in you both through the years. 19: Vicky! I have been excited about your wedding for as nearly as long as I have known you and Ed. You love each other and like each other in a such a beautiful way! I love being around you guys! Cal seems like ages ago, but at the same time it doesn't seem too long ago when I was flopped on your sofa bed thing with the summer Olympics on tv and talking to you about postponing law school, and your same decision. Look how much has happened in those 6 years! You're almost done with your JD, you've made a lot more serious life decisions, and you're getting married! 20: Dear Vicky, I am so happy about you and Ed getting married. This thought in itself makes me think about how blessed we are for the richness of life that God has given us. When I was little, I used to ride around in my back porch and would sometimes imagine what it would be like to be “grown-up” and do things like “get married,” and how it would be neat to grow up sharing special milestones like that with a best friend. Now that you are officially at this milestone, I am amazed at just how rich of a blessing it is to share life with people you love so dearly. I love you so much, Vicky, and you will always have a special place in my heart. You were there for me when I first put my trust in God and through all of the circumstances that God used to open my heart to Him. I have fond memories of going to church together, shopping, teaching on Friday nights, and volunteering for Hospice together. More than a decade later, I still count you as one of my dearest and closest friends. You know me so well and have been there for me countless times. It has been such a blessing to see how God continues to grow us over the years, and how even though we lead our lives on opposite coasts, whenever we talk I feel like I am talking with family. When we talk, it’s amazing to see that all the qualities that I loved and admired about you 10 years ago are still the core of who you are today, only deeper and sweeter. You mean so much me, and I have hoped for nothing but the best in life for you. When you and Ed got engaged, I realized that he fulfills all of what I would have hoped for you. Your deep and committed love for one another, the way you sharpen each other, and the community of family that I can see you both nurturing together to me is a testimony of how good and faithful God is to give us the best. So, on your wedding day, I thank God for the richness He gives us in this life, and for how my life has been so much richer because of you in it. If sharing this milestone with such a dear friend as you surpasses what I imagined as a child, I can’t begin to imagine how celebrating your and Ed’s 50th anniversary will beautifully surpass all of our expectations. 21: Dear Vicky, A friendship beginning from diapers and before we could even talk to the day of your wedding, what a story we have created. Friends for the past 25+ years, we have continued our friendship through all the hills and valleys of our lives. I am incredibly grateful for our friendship and am truly blessed to have you in my life. We have so many memories together from meeting in Chicago and moving together to Atlanta to our yearly trips to/from Georgia and Florida. How can we ever forget our nursery school days talking to Ken through the air conditioning vents? Even though we are much older now and no longer pretend to be the Sweet Valley Twins, I will always consider you as a part of my family. Our friendship is truly a rarity and I am so happy we have been able to stay in each other’s lives. You have been an incredible friend to me over these years. I know that even though we live on opposite sides of the country and lead super busy lives, we will always be able to pick up the phone and it will be like no time has passed. 23: SHARK’S FIN SOUP from Mom Ingredients: 2 slices of bacon 3 Tbs oil 2 Green onion (only white and sectioned) 4 slices ginger Hua Diao wine Hondashi 5 Shitake mushrooms Prepared shark’s fin 3 cans of Campbell chicken broth 1 whole chicken 1 Napa cabbage Directions: 1.Microwave bacon until crispy. 2.Heat oil in a wok. Brown green onion and ginger. Remove green onion. Add wine, chicken broth and water. 3.Add prepared shark’s fin and bring to a boil. 4.Transfer the soup to slow cooker and cook on high. 5.Brown green onion with some oil and discard the onion. Sautee mushroom and add napa cabbage. Season with wine, sugar, salt and hondashi. Cook for a few minutes making sure cabbage is not too soft. 6.Add some cabbage and bacon into the slow cooker and stew until shark’s fin is soft. 7.Cook chicken in microwave and put in the slow cooker until boiling. 8.Add the rest of cabbage. 9.Turn off the slow cooker after boiling. Notes: Soak dried shark’s fin in cold water for two hours. Bring ginger, green onion and water to a boil. Add shark’s fin and simmer for 30 minutes over low heat. Let cool and discard the water. Repeat the procedure one or two more times to get rid of any fishy smell.
