Aug 2013: RUNNING LIKE THE WIND!
Aug 2013: August | Em tried cross-country track for the first time from August to October. The amount of running surprised us all - an average of 10 miles per week. She buckled down and by the end of the season was consistently beating her records. She might try shorter distance track this spring. It was an adventure! | The first race was open, so Craig was able to run with Emily. Fun! The race length for her age division is 2k, or 1.2 miles. | First steps at 7 months, walking freely by 9 months, running by a year. Not surprising that Em would just keep on running! | Running like the wind!
Jul 2013: July | Fireworks over the Mississippi! | New Orleans | We decided to experience the 4th in NO on our way to Alabama. We were reminded of HOW HOT AND HUMID the south is in the summer. Duh... next time we'll go when it's cooler. :) Saw amazing fireworks over the Mississippi River. Ate great food, and saw some incredible sights. Even though I knew NO was flat, it was strange to see the land just go on forever without any hills. It makes an impression. Had an unforgettable visit to their gorgeous zoo - we witnessed a larger alligator eating a smaller one and got DRENCHED in an incredible downpour. | Taking an unexpected shower.... | Bourbon Street!
Jun 2013: Evans - Bell Family Reunion 2012 | We had such a great time on the lake! The house was beautiful. Food was delicious. We had time to relax, play cards, and play RockBand. The kids were practically glued to the dock. Emily wolfed down any food forced on her with the dock in site, and then back down she went. Carolyn put together an amazingly detailed family tree. It was so good to see our aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, siblings.... We hope to be able to do it again soon!!
Jun 2013: June
May 2013: May | Marcy had a big birthday in 2012. This year she won a ribbon for her dinosaur picture, and 2 ribbons for a story, "Puppy Problems" - Best in Class and Best in Division. So exciting!! She's been writing and illustrating books for several years and loves it. | For the first year, Em and her friends were as interested in the carnival games as the rides. Growing up......
