From the time you were born to the time you leave this earth, life will be full of different adventures and each one you encounter will call for a choice. For the first few years mom and dad will lead you in these choices: listen and learn from them. Eventually, these choices will fall on you. The good Lord did give you a tool to help you make good choices: it sits on your shoulders. However, it is only a tool and it has to be engaged. Since you are a boy, I might remind you its the one on your shoulders. Choices come in two different methods. One will be wrapped in multi-color with all the bells and whistles, while the other will be no frills and plain wrapped. Choices can also be categorized as wants and needs. Don't be afraid of choices, there has only been one guy on earth that lived without making bad choices, and as he hung on the cross I am sure he had second thoughts. You are a very lucky kid, born into a very good family. Always, remember your childhood and where you came from. Pray often and keep God in your heart. We will always have you in our thoughts and prayers. - Great Grandpa & Grandma Zawacki

What your Parents don't want you to know about your Grandparents: If your parents claim to not know us then we must be your grandparents We're always up for an adventure and we like to go outside We know lots of stories - and some of them will even be true We like to read the same story over and over again We're not afraid of being silly, trying on silly things and listening to your jokes The word "boo" coming from you will terrify us over and over again We make the best audience. You can count on us to watch, listen and applaud We knew your mom and dad when they were kids and have pictures to prove it We can tell stories about your parents that they would never tell you themselves When we cook or bake, we will always let you help, even if it means getting messy The words "hurry up" aren't in our vocabulary We are here to help you get into mischief you haven't thought of yet We will pay you to help around our house We have a common enemy, your parents When you are not feeling well we will snuggle and watch cartoons all day We will love you unconditionally Grandma & Grandpa's house; Grandma & Grandpa's rules What happens at Grandma & Grandpa's stays at Grandma & Grandpa's If mom and dad say no, ask Grandma & Grandpa - Grandpa Dave & Grandma Karen

Remember little man, you can always count on me. I LOVE YOU TO DEATH! P.S. Outside is a GREAT place to pee -Uncle Tyler

It amazes me that one person we have yet to meet can bring so much happiness to our family. There are so many things I want to tell you and I know over the years we will share, but of all these lessons the most important is the love of your family. Through the ups and downs, twists and turns of life, your family will always be there to love and support you. We may be a little silly, you'll probably even say overbearing at times, but the harder we push the more we love. Over the years our family will grow and change, but the joy you are bringing into our lives will never fade. I am so proud to call myself your Aunt and Godmother. I think this poem speaks great volumes to our relationship and future together. You are a precious miracle, and a dream come true. It will be my honor, to grow in faith with you. I welcome this invitation, extended with love. I will be your angel, sharing promises from above. As I gently hold you, and look at your sweet face. I say a little prayer, may you be touched by grace. So much of life ahead, I dream of all you'll be. Times we'll spend together, my Godson and me. I will hold your hand, and stand by your side. I will be your model, your teacher and your guide. I will give you time, with thoughts of you each day. I will keep you in my prayers, as you find your way. I look forward to the years ahead, and being a godparent to you. May our treasured bond grow strong, and in faith our hearts be true. -Aunt Jenifer | Learn to respect yourself, love yourself, be comfortable with the person you are. Only then can you feel peace. - Terry & Kathy Hanks

The Never Ending Call The boy walked along the ocean shore trying not to stray. He looked up to his father saying Dad I want to play. His father looked upon him, with love showing in his eyes. Do what you want to my son, but do not leave my side. I would never leave you daddy, I love you way too much. But the boy took a step away, out of his father's range of touch. He walked through the surf, waves tickling one toe. If I take one more step in, father will never know. His father called out to him, son to me remain true. The boy thought with glee, at the moment I don't need you. His father felt sadness, but he held his tongue. Sometime lessons need to be learned, even when so young. The boy stepped out a little further, the water covering his waist. His father spoke with urgency, his father spoke with haste. My son come back to me, the day is almost done. Not yet Dad, I'm having too much fun. But the boy did not have his father's sight, so he could not tell, the tide was coming fast, there would be no time to yell. Father he tried to scream as the water covered his head. I need you now daddy, was what the boy had said. And in a single instant his father was by his side. I thought you left me daddy, I though you went to hide. The father looked upon his son, a tear streaming down his cheek. The boy looked upon his father and cried the sobs of the meek. I would never leave you son, for I love you just the same. I was only waiting for you to call upon my name. - Dawn, Wes & Peyton Hargis | Don't walk in anyone else's shadow; be your own sun and shine! - Michelle Gammill | Faith is to believe what we do not see, and the reward of this faith is to see what we believe. Isaiah 41:13 For I am the Lord your God, who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you. -Erin Brown

"From a child you have known the Holy Scriptures which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus." 2 Timothy 3:15 May God bless your family and may you always remember to put God first in your lives, and everything else will follow. We love you. -Kyle, Holly, & Faith Brewer | Mr Strickland: "You don't have a chance, you're too much like your old man. No McFly ever amounted to anything in the history of Hill Valley!" Marty McFly: "Yeah, well, history is gonna change."(Back to the Future) To Baby Koelzer: Welcome to the new world! If Marty McFly can change the history of the world then you can to. You have two of the greatest parents, so we will be seeing you do big things. - Brett Vena | You are a true gift from God. As a parent I feel honored that he has chosen to "share and entrust" this gift to me. Remember that life ultimately belongs to God. Talk to him and ask for guidance each day to direct yourself on life's journey. Set aside your personal time lines and the plans set forth to replace them with what you know is God's plan. Put all the challenges you face in perspective and celebrate each step along the way. Each day of your life is finite and soon, so live each day to the fullest and grow to emulate God as often as you can. - Sarah Stanton

"Don't sweat the petty things and don't pet the sweaty things" -Josh & Meredith Howell. | Just because a toy is on the floor dosen't mean it's yours; don't forget you're never too old to just roll around in the grass; I'm always willing to help clear your plate; and remember this was my house first!! | -Harlee, the family dog | Kitties don't like taking baths with little boys...EVER Doggie poo tastes about like it smells...YUCKY Don't trust the dogs to guard your fruit snacks or puffs. Don't eat too many bananas. It just hurts the next day! Trust me! Don't sneeze in front of Mommy when eating crackers. -Dawn, Wes & Peyton Hargis

Rather than life being hills and valleys, I believe that it's kind of like two rails on a railroad track, and at all times you have something good and something bad in your life. No matter how good things are in your life, there is always something bad that needs to be worked on. And no matter how bad things are in your life, there is always something good you can thank God for. Life is a series of problems: Either you are in one now, you're just coming out of one, or you're getting ready to go into another one. The reason for this is that God is more interested in your character than your comfort; God is more interested in making your life holy than He is in making your life happy. -Cindy Smith | I have known your parents for a long time and through the years have found out they are two of the best people I know. Listen to them, emulate them and respect them: they will put you first and will be there for you. I have known you dad longer, and i know if you need anything you can just ask him. He has a wealth of knowledge and is passionate about many things; just don't ask him for help with your golf swing! - Derek & Brandy McClure | Words and stories to live by: Scout Oath: On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight | Seinfeld Thoughts: - "A Festivus for the rest of us" (Frank) - "You know about the cups? You got the A, B, C and D, that's the biggest" (Frank) "I know the D is the biggest. I base my whole life around knowing that the D is the biggest." (George) - Josh, Shannon & Micheal Hefley

This book was made for you with all the love and excitement from your friends and family that can't wait to welcome you to the world. I hope you feel that love every time you read it. My favorite words to live by are from a speech by Nelson Mandela. "We ask ourselves, who am I to be brilliant, talented and fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be these things? You are a child of God. We are born to manifest the glory of God that is within us. As we let our light shine, we unconsciously give others permission to do the same." Whatever talents God blesses you with, be they music, sports, leadership or something else, be sure that God wants you to let those talents shine! - Shane & Theresa Jones | 7. There ARE other colleges to attend besides KSU. 6. Skip mom & go straight to Grandpa Chuck if you become a history buff and want to take a road trip. 5. Always wear a helmet when skiing; or mom will give you a head injury herself. 4. You don't have to join the 4H Club; and if you do, you don't have to name your pet pig Wilbur. 3. There are other sporting goods stores you can go to in the greater KC area than the Sports Authority. 2. No matter what you mom says, a moped is not an acceptable substitution for a car. 1. You are a very luck little boy to have your mom and dad as parents! We can't wait to meet you! - Phil & Milana Mundweil

We are all so anxious to meet you (and know your name). God has given you two amazing parents, whom I have had the privilege of knowing for several years. I can tell you wonderful stories about your parents and their past; oh the stories!! Our time at KSU was incredible and we had more fun than we deserved. Yes, your parents once upon a time were cool! When you get to college and cause trouble call me first, I can always give you insight on the trouble your parents caused as well. If you really want to make your parents happy I will help you apply to Nebraska; the academics and football are top notch! Here are some helpful tips for your future: 1. When your dad is mad and asks, "Do I look stupid?" don't answer. 2. Don't pull your dads finger when he tells you to. 3. When your mom is mad at you, don't let her comb your hair. 4. Never tell your mom her diet isn't working. 5. You might as well accept it now - there is nothing more embarrassing than parents! Good luck raising your parents; I'm sure you will do a great job!! - Jake & Stephanie Wiesen | A little pebble makes many ripples. It is a very simply statement but if you think about it before you act it can definitely help guide you in the right direction. -Stephen Valenti | - For younger children: when you have a play date, or otherwise are out of your direct line of sight: remember to say yes ma'am, no ma'am, please & thank you. - For older children: when you are older & going out with friends and are out of the direct line of sight of any adult who knows you: Be safe. Don't do anything you wouldn't do in front of me, or that you will have to confess to a priest. - At all ages: it is good to "Be a Koelzer" -Kelly Ehrnman | You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden, neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on it's stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:14-16 If you remember this as you make your way through life, it will give you the strength and courage to overcome all obstacles, big or small. With that I wish you all the happiness in the world. Remember that your parents love you and always want the best for you. You really are a precious gift from God. - Clark & Amber Henning

No matter what Josh Hefley says, soccer is a sport & it is ok to play. Friends are the ones that are there when you ask them to be and they are even there when you don't ask. Dare to be different, don't worry about what others say; be you. Whenever your parents say you can't go, check to see if Kendall can go, you will probably get to go then. Listen to your Mom & Dad, they always want the best for you. -Justin & Julie Bunch | The measure of who we are is what we do with what we have. -Nathan & Brandy Alt | Always, always give it your best. When it's all said and done, you want to be able to say you did the best you could. -Sarah Dee | Dictionary is the only place that success comes before work. Hard work is the price we must pay for success. I think you can accomplish anything if you"re willing to pay the price. -Nathan & Brandy Alt - | If you take yourself out of the game you will never succeed. -Kathy Nelson | Childhood is a journey-not a race -Kathy Nelson

 - Nothing of great value in this life comes easily. - Be wise in the use of time. The question in life is not how much time do we have? The question is what shall we do with it. - The way you treat your mother says a lot about how you will treat your wife? Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? - Cynthia Cochran | - Remember to follow your dreams and reach for the stars for anything is attainable if you follow your heart. - Happiness is not measured in the amount of money you make but by the number of lives you touch along the way. - Anything worth doing is worth doing right. - Do not always follow the path, instead blaze your own trail. - Joe Ohmes

Achievement seems to follow those who start early and work late...my observations of your fathers work ethic. That is a wonderful way to go through life by choosing to go where there is no path and wanting to leave a trail. Learn patience, kindness and tolerance as you work through life. Give your folks your artwork so they can display at the office...why should all of the good stuff go on the refrigerator?! Never ever pull up on a date and honk the horn...because your dates father will come out and have words with you and will explain to you that his daughter only answers to a door bell. If you act stupid to attract girls, then you will attract stupid girls. - Kevin Gray | Top 10 List for Baby Koelzer 10. If you are frustrated with yourself or in a bad mood, do something nice for someone else. 4. Be humble and embrace failure-there is more to learn from your struggles than your successes. 3. Trust in God...hard times are bound to happen in life but he will see you through! 2. Always love and respect your mom and dad...they are amazing people! You are one lucky boy! You have a family that loves you very much. We are excited to watch you learn and grow! - Cody, Kerri & Camden Ptacek

My Little Man I have so looked forward to the day I get to meet you for the first time. I hope you know how excited your mother and I are and how much we will love and care for you. We will be there for you at every up, down, turn and loop you experience throughout your life. As your father, I hope to be able to provide you with a positive example as you grow to become a man. I could not do that with my words alone, so I asked others close to us, to help provide some words of wisdom and advice that will help guide you down the right path. This book will serve as a never ending reminder of the support and love you have in your life. I am sure as you grow older, there will be times when you question your parents, you will wonder what other family you came from, or how unlucky you are to be stuck with all of us. But always know that we will weigh every decision we make with you in mind; even though you may not understand it right away, you need to trust that your family is always here for you and wants the best for you. I can't wait to watch you grow into the man God wants you to become. I will always do my best to be at every soccer game, basketball practice, piano recital, debate competition or other event of YOUR choice supporting, cheering and encouraging you every step of the way. There is a quote attributed to Ralph Waldo Emerson that I have always liked. It provides me perspective on what is important in life and how to gauge success. I will leave you with these words: "Success - To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the best in others; to leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch or a redeemed social condition; to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived; this is to have succeeded." - Your Dad
