Mom and Dad | Our precious daughter Marilyn was born in Houston, Texas and has been a great source of joy to us ever since. She only lived in Houston a short time before moving to Lawrence Kansas.
Lawrence she spent her 1st birthday at geology field camp outside of Canyon City Colorado. She then spent many more summers at field camp. She was surrounded by two brothers and parents who adored her . When she was only 5 years old she hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon. Her brothers and Dad were way ahead so she and her mother continued to slowly make their way to the bottom of the canyon by planning every birthday party she would have for the next 10 years. Marilyn always was her mother's friend and companion. She went with her family to London, England for a summer. She was always concerned about her brothers and when a new brother (Jason) arrived she was thrilled and became a protector and second mother to him. In the middle of her third grade she moved again to Ash Green in England for nine months.
What a trooper she was to start off in a new school and new friends. Marilyn loved going to church and was anxious to learn about the gospel. We then moved to Casper Wyoming for one year while she was in 5th grade. She again made new friends and joined girl scout s and adjusted to her new surroundings. Her last move was to Littleton, Colo. She could finally call Littleton home. It was a tough move but Marilyn soon adjusted with the help of her new dog Blizzard and her brothers . She loved to go to the pool, play with her new friends and plan activities for the family. She was always dependable and worked hard to excel in her school work. She also had jobs in both high school and college. She was involved with the choir in her middle school and started playing volleyball, which she continued to play throughout high school where she earned first team all conference.
She was always a wonderful daughter and liked to go shopping with her mother and help her Dad. We loved having her in our home and missed her so much when she went off to BYU. She has been a wonderful mother to her children and sister to her brothers and a great support to her parents. She has always worked hard to keep our family united and organized. She and her family took great care of our home so we could serve a mission in Nauvoo. We love you very much Marilyn, thank you for all you do for us. Love, Mom and Dad

Happy Birthday, Marilyn! We hope you know how much we love you and appreciate all you bring to the Brady family. Having a kinder and gentler version of the three Brady boys is a good thing for all of us! You have accomplished impressive accomplishments in your lifetime already, including hiking the Grand Canyon at a very young age. We admire the way you have set lofty goals and accomplished them. | Chris
You have been a super example for all of us as you received your Master's Degree, served faithfully in Church callings, and have been an amazing mother to three extraordinary children. We appreciate how you have always been there to support Mom and Dad while on their mission and their world-travels. One of our favorite things about you, Marilyn, is your "Aunt Marilyn's Chocolate Pie Recipe" which we serve on every major holiday. You are so thoughtful to remember everyone's birthday, so we want to make sure to remember yours. We love you, Marilyn! Have a very Happy 40th Birthday! Love, The Arizona Bradys
 Me And David
Dear Marilyn, Don't fret 40 is not the end it’s just getting really close. I’ve always admired your strength putting up with 3 brothers. I love you. I’m grateful to you for being the best sister. I have many fond memories growing up together. Even though we’ve crossed the earth together and seen many wonderful and incredible things, shared many memorable experiences, what I remember quite frequently pertains to a small room, a chair, a rope, an iguana, a little blood and screaming (Sorry!). Hey, I did walk miles in a record blizzard to get you a dog. I’m grateful to you for your example. You’re a great mother and wife (thank you for giving us Eric and the kids). We look forward to sharing future memories together with you and your family. I wish you the happiest of birthdays. Love, David
Well Marilyn, despite my best efforts (from ages 8-12) you made it to 40. You are a great big Sister and I am lucky to have you growing up. | Me And Jason
In honor of your birthday I decided to come up with my TOP 10 Marilyn memories. So here we go: 10. My first vivid child hood memory is walking around the neighborhood in Colorado with Marilyn to find new friends. I don't think we found any but I was happy you were there to show me the ropes. 9. If it weren't for Marilyn I would never have memorized the lyrics to “We Built This City On Rock n’ Roll” (Don't kid yourself you listened to that all the time!) 8. Marilyn's prom date one year wore a sweet tux with tails, shortly before this wonderful night her date and her were watching a movie in the basement I took the opportunity to army crawl into the family room behind the couch and eavesdropping before dumping a small amount of water on them.Good times.
 7. Marilyn used to put her hand in front of her face and as she slowly pulled it down said face. I think it was supposed to be super mean so after learning it from her I managed to do it to Dad. He didn’t see it but Marilyn promptly ratted me out and the chase was on, I was running for my life and Dad was in hot pursuit. Marilyn was happy to see it at the beginning but later told me she eventually became scared for me once she saw how truly angry Dad was at me. 6. During my college years I spent many an hour on the phone with Marilyn talking about girls. She talked me out of many a mistake and tried to convince me Mom and Dad would love me no matter who I dated. 5. Marilyn claims that I talk in my sleep. During a family reunion in Manassa, CO it has been theorized that I started screaming in my sleep and tried to climb up the wall.
Marilyn sleeping in the bed next to me shot out of bed screaming. I laid right back down in bed but apparently Marilyn was a little shaken. To this day Steve Ivey still thinks our combined screams were a mountain lion walking around the lodge. 4. Marilyn was a great volleyball player, I spent numerous nights at Heritage high school watching volley. (Okay, I only know she played volleyball based on pictures, I spent my time during the volleyball matches sorting Skittles and letting them soak in Pepsi from the snack bar.) 3. Marilyn’s high school job was at Manna Bakery, picking her up from work was awesome because she always thought of us bring home any variety of treats including amazing cup cakes. 2. Best chocolate chip cookies ever...period.
 1. Best big sister ever, we had a great time growing up, I’ll always remember road trips to Utah, scooting around in your boyfriend's jeep, talking about my girl troubles, epic fights and epic fun. I love you Marilyn, Happy Birthday. Jason
 Me And My Friends
Well, what can I say about Marilyn? She is one of the nicest women I have ever met. A great mother and a great friend who is very loyal to her faith without being judgmental of others. It is nice to have people in your life that you may not see or talk to for months, but you can always pick up right where you left off. Marilyn is one of those people. Happy 40th Marilyn!!! Traci :)
Dear Marilyn, Happy Birthday! You are such a generous, kind and fun person to know. I have always appreciated swapping parental advice and eating whatever you bake! Have a great birthday! Sara
Marilyn, you will always have a special place in my heart because we met during the most important and amazing part of our lives - when we became moms for a first time. Marilyn, you are a true friend; you listen, care and give great advice. During the last twelve years, I have discovered many things about you. You are patient, even in trying situations. You are also super creative-you have the best ideas for birthday parties ever. And, you are an excellent running partner! I ran my first Bolder Boulder with you and we had the best, most exhausting time since our walk from the car seemed longer than the actual run! Marilyn, you are kind, giving and fun to be around. I wish you the happiest of birthdays and many more to come! Natalie
When I first joined the playgroup, Marilyn was so warm and welcoming. Through the years, I've learned this "is" Marilyn. She has an inner peace and happiness that is evident from the first time you meet her. She is one of the most genuine and loving people I know. Marilyn treasures her family and friends. Her children are shining examples of her love and guidance. Happy 40th Birthday Marilyn!! Thank-you for your smiles and support throughout the years. I wish you many blessings and happiness! Kim
Marilyn, It is hard to believe we have been friends for over 25 years. You are turning 40 and it seems not that long ago that I met you when we were nervously waiting to perform at our piano recital. We have had so many fun times over the years. I will always remember cramming into Kristie’s Cougar to go for lunch during high school, sitting at Penguin’s eating frozen yogurt, and playing board games on a Saturday night at Sandy’s house. We have stayed friends through the years and I have enjoyed our friendship. You are always so calm and logical with whatever life throws your way. I know I can always look to you for advice and I will get a straight forward approach. Thank you for being such a great friend and I look forward to seeing what adventures life has in store for us as we both enter our “40’s” together! Your Friend, Katie
