12: Crossing the river on the ferry | the closest we got to Rotterdam.
13: Class trip with 2V to Westerbork - a Dutch concentration camp. | Tombstones with numbers of Jews sent to each concentration camp in Germany.
14: Westerbork - the concentration camp for the Jews in Holland. No one died here, they were put to work and then shipped off to places that did kill them.
15: Each star represents a Jew who was in the camp. The higher the pillar it is on, the higher their standing in the community was.
16: A Touching Reminder: This railroad was used during WWI to transport the Jews to their deaths, although they thought they were going to another work camp. It is now used as a memorial. | The end of the railroad is going up towards heaven, a symbol pointing to where the Jews were headed. The warped tracks point to a difficult journey there. The other end is stopped showing the end of the railroad into the camp.
