3: The Great Depression was caused by a chain reaction that lead to economic instability. It all started with the crash of the stock market in 1929. That lead banks to fail and millions of dollars of peoples savings vanished. This of course lead to the people to reduce their spending on unnecessary items and hoard their money. This slowed down the production demand which resulted in loss of jobs and people panicked and made it worse. This lead to the worst depression we have ever seen. | Stock market decline

7: Life during the depression was harsh with tons of unemployed people looking for jobs every day. So many people struggling trying to feed their families and maintain a household. Most were jobless, homeless, and penniless. They sold their belongings for food and many went on the road looking for opportunity.
8: Everyone was affected by the Great Depression by some degree. Whether rich or poor, white or colored, man or woman, everyone felt the impact of the crash of the stock market.
