1: Kathy Reichs was born on July 7, 1948 in Chicago, Illinois. She married Paul Reichs in 1968 (when she was only 19 years old) and eventually had two daughters and a son.

2: In 1971, she recieved her bachelor's degree from American U. Then, she got her master's degree in 1972. Finally, she got her PhD in 1975. They were all for anthropology.

3: Anthropology is the study of human bodies and the things that they do. Anthropologists are the ones who identify decomposed skeletons.

4: Because of her work, the books Kathy writes have to do with bones. In her famous thirteen-book series, the main character (Temperance Brennan) is an anthropologist too.

5: This series was such a hit, they made it into a TV show! | The TV series "Bones" is based on the books Kathy wrote.

6: In this show, Tempe and her crew solve murder cases. Currently, it shows on Mondays at 8pm on Fox.

7: Kathy has won many awards for her books. in 1997, she won the Ellis Award for Best First Novel, Deja Dead.

8: Another great accomplishment was being one of the 82 anthropologists ever certified by the American Board of Forensic Anthropology.

9: Currently, Kathy works for Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in North Carolina.

10: Out on the field, Kathy runs into some very interesting things. She works up to 80 cases a year, finding many old skeletons.

11: Kathy has been to many historic battle scenes.She helped identify dead soldiers from World War II, Korea, and Southeast Asia.

12: She also identified remains found at ground zero of the World Trade Center after 9/11.

13: Kathy once said: " I found I could have an impact on lives; That's why I moved across from archaeology. I work with the dead, but I am working for the living. I cannot do anything for the victim of a murderer, but I can help the next person who hopefully won't become a victim.

15: Virals is a two book series that is non-related to the Bones series. In this book, four friends, Tori, Ben, Hirman, and Shelton live on an island off the coast of South Carolina. | One day, they decide to take a boat out to Loggerhead Island, home of a world famous Marine Biologist lab where all of their parents work.

16: While hiking through the island's woods, they find an old dog tag. Since it is hundreds of years old, it is unreadable. They sneak into the lab and use high tech gear to clean it. While in the lab, the gang finds one of the island's wolfdogs trapped in a secret room for an experiment. Coop, the wolfdog, had been purposely infected with canine parvovirus, supposedly only contagious to other canines.

17: After a few weeks of strange behavioral encounters, the group realizes that the virus was unique, and they had been infected with it. This disease gives them "flares", which highten their senses and give them canine capabilities.

18: Using their "flares", the gang figures out the mystery behind the dogtag and find out that there is a murder behind it. Can they track down the killer and figure out their special abilities? The adventure continues in Kathy's second book in the series, Seizure.
