Butterflies Baboom baboom A heart that jumps Flip flop flutter A stomach that flies Baboom flip flutter A shock of nerves run through me 3 minutes equals a life time "My stage, my time" The butterflies fly out at as words Filling the room 'my time is over' the butterflies are gone.

The metaphor " A shock of waves runs through me" affects the reader because it gives the reader a hint of what the poems is about. Also it shows i felt about speaking in front of an audience.I chose the word waves because waves keep on coming they never stop and the nerves are the same as the waves, they all ways come back.

Summer The summer breeze blows The flowers have touched the sky The birds know, Its time to fly high The watermelons are being cut The flavors are coming out Come out of your hut Come join us, its time to shout With sugar and strawberries And ice cream for sure Big bowls of raspberries Also milkshakes to stir People are feasting and enjoying there day as I sit here alone on my swing kids are playing and creaming ‘hey” Its peaceful out, so I sing!

The mood of this poem is happy and joyful. In the poem it is a summer day and there is a party. I chose mood because when I read the poem it makes me feel happy. It gives the reader a happy feeling. The words summer breeze makes the poem feel light weight and free.

What Is Yellow? What is yellow ? The sun is yellow A dandelion swaying in the breeze A duck is yellow waddling around town A star is yellow hanging from strings Bananas hanging from trees A crayon in a box, it shines just like the sun All of these thing are yellow.

The metaphor a yellow star hanging from strings effects the reader by making them think Harder about stars and also it fits in the poem flow better.

Nothing On Warren Street In a town on Warren St., There as an alley. An alley where peace took over. Where kids escaped form heat. in that alley, that peaceful alley there are no bees buzzing around In that alley there were no people disrupting the silence in that alley no cats were to be seen, except on an august night where the moon was bright and full in that alley nothing escaped not even sound. in that alley that peace full alley there were no squirrels jumping up-top. in that alley no kids screamed in that alley there were no animals with a hop. in that alley there was a house built for nature.

The image of nothing escaping out of the alley not even sound. (line 9) shows the reader how peaceful it was in that alley. Also it shows that there were no cars, animals or people would come in and disturb you. It makes the reader feel mysterious.

Earth Save the earth, be green help clean your environment if everyone helps, The world would be a great place. Reduce, reuse, recycle!

The effect alliteration reduce, reuse recycle makes the poem more effective and it sounds strong at the end. The sound R’ makes me feel outrageous about people not recycling.

Peace Is Peace is the light that the moon gives. Peace is lying down in the grass watching the birds fly over you. Peace is hearing rain on your roof at night. Peace is soft music in the distance. Peace is letting heaven take its course. Peace is letting your worries get blown away. Peace is smelling a rose, freshly bloomed with rain drops propped on each petal. Peace is a ladybug scuttling on a leaf. Peace is no war through out the world. Peace is being green. Peace is helping the environment. Peace is a clock singing time. Peace is he sky as shiney as silver. Peace is gazing up at the moon. Peace is wishing on a star. Peace is people being nice to each other. Peace is a butterfly flying around. Peace is everything I could ever imagine. .

The repitition in the poem makes the poem more peaceful. Also it gives the poem a calm feeling. The repetition makes it more interesting. It tells the reader that there is peace somewhere in the world.

Friends have trust. Friends have joy. Friends are like the forecast. "Today, Stormy with a chance of thunder" says the weather lady Bolts of thunder crash inside. Feeling are hurt just like a 90degree drop on a ride. Friends have laughter, happy laughter Sharing is a key in friendship Friends are like the forecast. "Today, Partly cloudy with rain for sure"says the weather lady. Streams of tears come of your face, but then, everything is sunny.

Airplanes In an airplane there are people unfortunately there are no chickens. There are no pigs that nest in your hair. There are also no sheep that fly around. No parrots are coming to talk to us, on an airplane. Sadly, there aren't any beds to sleep in Cats and dogs are in the cargo and not on your lap. the cows are left at the ranch and in the fields. Monkeys are in the jungle and zoos.

SKIING By Emma Gormley Winter has come It's time to ski Get on the mountains and feel free. On the slope go side to side Faster and faster here we go Try not to fall don't be too slow I crash into a person breaking sticks and stones I get on a on a snow scooter off we go Down the mountain but way up high I wish i could fly When I'm at the hospital They put me in a room And tell me a doctor will see me soon I walk out like a brave soldier And act like nothing happened Except a hurt shoulder and bruises from horror Winter has come it's time to ski So get on the mountain Just don't do it like me!

Autum's Wind By: Emma Gormley The autums wind blow the leaves away and flood the paths with them I see trees standing like a mountains high and strong As I walk i wonder why the leaves are changing color I walk through the windy path red to orange green to brown. When I look up into the sky, I see a big fat black face screeching across the atmosphere. Pitter Patter Pitter Patter running through the rain I see a shelter, let me have some rest so i can start again.

I, Too, Sing America By Langston Hughes | I,Too sing America I am the darker brother They send me to eat in the kitchen when company comes, But I laugh and eat well, and grow strong, tomorrow, I'll be able to eat at the table when company comes. Nobody will dare say to me" eat in the kitchen" then. BEsides, they'll see how beautiful i am, and be ashamed. I,too, sing america.

Who Has Seen The Wind? By Christina Georgina Rossetti Who has seen the wind? Neither I nor you: But when the leaves hang trembling, The wind is passing through. Who has seen the wind? Neither you nor I: But when the trees bow down their heads, The wind is passing by.

The Road Not taken By Robert Frost Two roads diverge in a yellow wood, And sorry I could not travel both. And be one traveler, long as I stood. And looked down as far as i could to where it bent in the undergrowth; Then took the other, as just as fair, And having perhaps the claim, because it was grassy and wanted wear;Through as for that, the passing there, had worn them really about the same, and both that morning equally lay.

In leaves no step had trodden back. Oh, I kept the first for another day! yet knowing how way leads on to way, I doubted if I should ever come back. I shall be telling this is a sigh. Somewhere ages and ages hence: Two rods diverge in a wood, and I- I took the one less traveled by, and that has made all the difference.

Homework Oh Homework! By Jack Prelutsky Homework oh homework! I hate you, you Stink! I wish I could wash you away in the sink! If only a bomb would explode you to bits! Homework Oh homework your giving me fits! I'd rather take baths with a man-eating shark, or wrestle a lion alone in the dark. Eat spinach and liver, pet 10 porcupines, than tackle the homework my teacher assigns.

Homework Oh homework your last on my list! I simply cant see why you even exist, If you'd disappear it would tickle me pink! Homework Oh Homework, I hate you! You stink! | http://www.angelfire.com/oh/brokaw/homework.html | ERASER
