1: Question #1: An old Pizza Inn menu from the 1960's lists the following prices for plain cheese pizza: Small (8" diameter).................\$0.85 Medium (10" diameter).............\$1.15 Large (13" diameter)................\$1.75 - Assume that the price is a quadratic function of the diameter. Write the equation expressing price in terms of diameter. - If Pizza Inn had made 20" pizzas, what don you predict the price would have been? - Suppose that the menu had listed a "Colossal" pizza coting \$6.00. What do you predict its diameter would have been? - The price-intercept is the price when the diameter is zero. What does the price-intercept equal? Why do you suppose that it is greater than zero? - How do you know that the original data does not fit a linear function?

2: Assume that the price is a quadratic function of the diameter. Write the equation expressing price in terms of diameter. y= .01x^2+-.03x+.45

3: If Pizza Inn had made 20" pizzas, what don you predict the price would have been? If pizza Inn had 20" pizzas, I predict the price would have been \$3.85

4: The "Colossal" pizza that sots \$6.00 would be 25.5 inches long in diameter.

5: The price-intercept would be .45 cents. I suppose it is greater than zero because it is the starting prices of all the pizzas.

6: I know that the original data doesn't fit in a linear equations because some of the prices would be negative.
