FC: Group 7's Summer Trip!
Before we left the area for more luxurious destinations we made a trip to Buhl Park in Sharon, Pennsylvania
We attended the Summer Youth Program offered at the park every year. The weather was beautiful and we were able to participate in many activities with the kids.
Some of the kids took shelter in the shade from the hot sun | They even let us join in on Swim time!
We threw quarters into the pool for the kids to find...things turned a little chaotic!
This young man won the cannon ball competition! Look at that form! Sadly we had to leave the Summer Camp after Swim Time
The next stop on our trip was India!
Above is beautiful city of Vasanari, India which sits on the bank of the Ganges River. We saw a holy cow being lead through the streets by the people of the city
After our lovely trip to India we decided to do some biking on the mountains of Bolivia! What a magnificent view we had of the valley! Thankfully none of us fell over the edge!
Here some of us take a break on these giant stones that decline hundreds of feet too the rivers bottom. I had to save Tran, the kid in the middle he almost took a tumble!
Our next stop was Athens, Greece!
This was an old church we visited, and this tired dog fell asleep outside!
We also visited the famous ancient bulding known as the Acropolis.
This is a picture of the Acropolis at night time!
After our trip to Greece, it was time to come back to the United States and see the capital of our country, Washington D.C. We started our tour by taking in both the Washington and Lincoln Memorials.
After stopping at the Washington and Lincoln Memorials we stopped and looked at the Caitol Building. The Capitol Building serves as the seat of government for Congress.
Of all the tourist attractions we vistited in D.C. my favorite spot was Arlington National Cemetery which is located just outside of D.C. in Arlington, Virginia. It was a humbling and surreal experience to see all of the tombstones of so many brave soldiers.
Our next stop was the battlefield at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. This is a picture from the Pennsylvania monument there. | This marker on the Pennsylvania monument showed the distance from the monument to the different battle scenes
The tents were part of the 145th reenactment. They had set a building on fire in the distance.
These ladies offered comfort to the soldiers at Hale Farm
We found this lady walking down the road, in 85 degrees.
Then we made our way to Northeastern Pennsylvania. This was the view next to Niagra Falls.
The view of the Bayfront in Erie Pennsylvania | The famous tomb of the vampire. There is no inscription on this, only a pair of wings on the top. No one knows who lies here.
On our way back to Clarion, we stopped in Cussewago Township. This was a typical road there.
The first night we stayed there, they had a cow tipping contest in this field.
Finally we made it back to lovely Clarion, where construction is always prevelant.
The trees were just starting to turn when we made it back from our awesome trip.
