1: Sparks was born in Omaha, Nebraska on December 31, 1985.
2: In 1985 The University of Notre Dame offered Sparks a full scholarship for track and field. That same year he hurt himself and had to recover in the summer. That's when he wrote his first book (the book was never published).
3: In 1989 when living in Sacramento,CA Sparks wrote his second book (again it never got published). Then in 1990 he collaborated on a book with Billy Mill, the book was called,The Olympic Gold Medalist. This book topped 50,000 copies in the first month.
4: In 1994, at the age of 28, Sparks wrote the book The Notebook. In 1995 The Notebook was sold to the Warner Books. It was published in 1996.
5: In 1998 Sparks wrote A Message In A Bottle. The book is about his parents relationship.
6: " | Sparks and his wife Catherine (married in 1989) founded The Epiphany School in New Bern, North Carolina. It's a faith based private school.
7: Sparks is a huge contributer to the Creative Writing Program at the University of Notre Dame. He also provides scholarship, internships, and fellowships annually at Notre Dame.
8: Sparks spent five years coaching track and field athletes at a local high school. Sparks contributes to local and national charities too.
9: His best sellers have been translated into 45 different languages. Also, Sparks best sellers have made almost $80 million in the worldwide sales.
10: Sparks wrote the book Three Weeks With My Brother with his brother Micheal Sparks.
11: Sparks had a sister (Danielle), brother (Micheal), mom (Jill), dad (Patrick). Only Sparks and his brother are still living in his family.
12: Sparks has five kids with his wife Catherine. They still live in North Carolina.
13: He reads about 125 books a year. And is best know as the author of The Notebook, Message In A Bottle, and Nights in Rodanthe.

15: The Lucky One is a book about a young man named Logan Thibault. He was a U.S. Marine. When he came home from duty, he found a picture of a beautiful girl.
16: Logan started having a lot of good luck and thinks the picture of the girl has something to do with it. He was bored so decide to search for the girl.
17: The only clue he had was the letter "E" that was on the back of the picture. He went to North Carolina talked to a lot of people and found the girl, Elizabeth. He did not tell her about the picture.
18: Elizabeth found out that Logan only wanted to meet her because of the picture. She was very hurt and felt like he was stalking her.
19: Logan was very upset because he loved Elizabeth but really questioned their love after she did not believe Logan loved her back. Logan had a lot of bad luck and many bad days until he finally realized that Elizabeth did love him and trust him.
