One sunny day John was walking home from school on May 8 2010. John was feeling pretty down that day. The previous day he had taken a big test for science. John ha was feeling pretty down that day. The previous day he had taken a big test for science. John hadn't studied for the test at all, and was afraid that he would fail One sunny day John was walking home from school at about 3:40 to be exact on Friday Jan. 8th 2010. John. Sure enough on the day after the test he had found out that he had guessed right, he had failed!“I can't believe that I failed, and probably because I didn't study for the test,” John kept saying to himself over and over again to himself. But something else was bothering John more than just failing the test. It was the fact of telling his parents that he had failed.
They would surely hate him for it, he knew that he would ask about.”That's it,” John said, “maybe they don't have to find out after all.” “I know, I will lie about getting an F and tell them that I did good on” “they will never know,” John muttered to himself. “Ya that's what I'll do, I won't tell them.” If I would say nothing, they would be even more suspicious than If I would lie about it. All of a sudden John noticed that he was at his front door. John new exactly what he was going to say. He opened the door and as soon as he dropped his things he parents asked him how the test went, “fine,” he replied back, hoping that they wouldn't notice that he was lying. John walked up to his room. “Boy that was close,” he told himself.
“Yes the weekend is here, time to relax and enjoy myself John” John said to himself. All day Saturday John laid on the couch doing nothing but watching cartoons. The next day John's mother said that sometime that day he would have to sweep the basement or he wouldn't be able to watch his favorite cartoons on Sunday afternoon.
As he was sweeping he, thought he would have to be doing a lot more sweeping! Monday morning came and at six A.M. sharp his mother came and woke him up to get ready for school. That day the science teacher Mrs. Mcfewing told the kids that their grades would be sent home so their parents could see what they received on the test. “Oh, and by the way kids your grades will be to your home within the next day. John gulped wondering what he was going to do now.
Tuesday came and went no letter. John started to get more worried. Wednesday came, school was over and John was about to walk in the door and as soon as he did he saw his parents standing there glaring at him with not just anger but also with disappointment.
“I thought you said that you did good on the science test.” “I did,” john said. “Not according to this letter from Mrs. Mcfewing,” his father said. “let''s just call Mrs. Mcfewing and get this whole ordeal straightened out. John's mother dialed the phone. About 3 minutes later his mother hung up the phone and said, “John, there is no mistake, you failed, and most importantly you lied to us. If you had failed why didn't just tell us.” “John it's the right thing to do. Telling the truth is the best thing to do. Lying will get you no were in life,” his father said. And so John never lied again
