BC: The oil spill effected 68,000 square miles in some degree. This monstrosity has destroyed wildlife, and tourism. Hopefully another one of these catastrophes will not happen again.

FC: The Gulf Oil Spill of 2010 By: Carter Atchison

On Thursday, April 20th the Deepwater Horizon oil rig off the Coast of Louisiana exploded and a giant hole in the ocean floor has now been exposed. Gallons upon gallons of oil are seeping out of this hole. All the workers escaped from the Oil rig, and eleven people died. This oil rig is a BP oil rig.

The Oil Spill affected all wildlife, on the Gulf. Mainly though; birds, fish, whales, turtles, crabs, jellyfish and shrimp.

Many jellyfish were effected by the oil spill. This one above is drenched in oil. The chance of survival of the jellyfish is minimal.

These are some dolphins under a oily water surface. These dolphins have to come up for air, so every time they do they have to go near the oil.

This egret has been stained for life by the oil. Its old perfect white coat, now has dark brown blemishes.

The Oil Spill even killed some of the biggest creatures in the ocean. Whales were greatly effected by the oil spill because they have to come up for air, right where the oil is.

Many people tried to protect the ocean, but there was too much to clean up.

The Oil spill spread all across the gulf encompassing everything with oil. The oil rose to the top making the Ocean surface look like sludge, and grime.

They tried many different ways to try to stop the Oil Spill. Some didn't work at all, and others worked but not at the proper rate.

These ocean animals survived in the ocean, and some even had their young either in the ocean or near it. A whole generation of these animals have been effected by the Oil spill.

They are not used to this Oily substance, and are out of place.

The Lousiana,Mississippi, and small Alabama beaches have all become clothed in Oil.

It Soaks from The ocean to the Beach destroying all tourism, and the wildlife on the beach.

Shrimp has depleted greatly, and no one wants to buy shrimp from the Gulf anymore. The gulf used to be a main supplier of Oil.

The Fish Industry plummeted greatly because either the fish died or no one wanted to eat them.
