FC: The Battlefronts a look into the eyes of war
War. It never ceases. In the history of human civilization, there has only been 121 years of total world peace. The battlefront is what challenges a man. Bullets flying around you, mines detonating randomly, and watching your best friend die in front of you is only the least of your worries.
Leaving Home is the toughest thing to do. How will you know if you return? Sadly, many did not return to their families.
Boot camp is nothing compared to the horror many would face in the trenches. Living in the trenches lead to gangrene, poor living conditions, and rats were only a few factors that the men would have to live with for the next four years.
Chemical Warfare shocked the Allies. It was never before used in war, and it killed more efficiently and in more quantity than bullets alone.
To be captured or wounded was a grave matter. The "hospitals" would be overflowing and understaffed. And if you were captured...well, there was a small percentage that you would return alive.
As you hopefully could have told, war is not all glory. There is many things that the soldiers (and not just in the first World War), I guarantee you would love to unsee. So the next time you think about the glory of war, just remember the heavy price you will have to pay.
