Ordinary World: The Grinch begins as a small boy who doesn't have a problem with Christmas. He has a crush on a girl named Martha May who lives in Whoville, but she is mean to him. He is shunned from Whoville because of his green skin, and odd appearance. He was just trying to be a normal boy. The treatment that he receives is what starts to bring his spirits down and cause him to become bitter and mean. He sits on top of Mount Crumpit hating Christmas and Whoville. He has a dog named Max, who is his only friend. He lives in a cave on Mount Crumpit above Whoville.
Call to Adventure: The Grinch's call to adventure is the choice between liking Christmas this time around or still hating it. When his dog Max acts like he might like Christmas, The Grinch gets very angry with him. The Grinch has to have an inner battle with himself about what to decide. This call to adventure is different than many because it is less recognizable.
Refusal of The Call: The Grinch refuses the call of coming around to Christmas because he only remembers the things he thinks are bad about it. | At the point The Grinch begins to scheme and think of ways he can ruin Christmas and keep it from coming to Whoville ever again. He comes up with many ideas but only | one is good enough for his devilish mind. He puts all of his time and effort into making this plan full-proof and being able to stop Christmas. He truly believes in his tiny heart that his plan will work.
The Mentor: Cindy Lou Who is the Grinch's mentor. She teaches the Grinch indirectly that stealing presents and trying to ruin Christmas is wrong and it won't solve anything for him. Cindy Lou Who questions the Grinch, forcing him to lie to her about what he is really doing. This adds to the Grinch's guilty conscience later on and helps him realize just how evil he was being. Cindy Lou Who helps the Grinch transform into the "hero" that he becomes.
Crossing the First Threshold: The Grinch comes down from his mountain, Mount Krumpit, but he's dressed up in a potato sack so no one notices who he is when he arrives in Whoville.
Tests: Cindy Lou Who wants the Grinch to be a part of Whoville and wants him to come to Whoville to hopefully be the Holiday Cheermaster. | Allies: Cindy Lou Who and Max, the dog. | Enemies: The enemies to the Grinch are all the citizens of Whoville. Christmas is another one of the Grinch's enemies as well as the Grinch himself.
Ordeal/ Death Experience: Physically the Grinch gets ready by finding something to wear in Whoville. Mentally, he goes crazy because he hasn't seen the Whoville citizens in such a long time. Also, when the Grinch is on the top of the cold cliff and is threatening to dump the presents off. He waits to hear the Who's cry of sadness.
Reward: The Grinch thought he was going to succeed at ruining the Who's Christmas. The Grinch hears singing coming from Whoville and thinks they're all crying because he has ruined their Christmas. He believes he has won and ruined Christmas for all of the Whos.
The Road Back: When the Grinch hears the Whos singing he is greatly disappointed. He thinks of something he has never thought of before. He is going to steal all of the Whos presents that are underneath their Christmas tree and really ruin Christmas this time!
Resurrection: The Grinch Transforms himself into a nice kind-hearted man, instead of being an evil heartless man. He rescues the sleigh from falling off the cliff. He returns all the presents he took from the Whoville's homes.
Return with Elixir: The Grinch turns into a hero in this stage. He celebrates Christmas with the Whos. He even cuts the " Roast Beast." He enjoys actually having company. He frees the Whoville's from an evil man ( The Grinch ) and helps by transforming into a totally different man.
 The End
