Heathcliff | Most Likely to Murder a Generation . . . | "My tears don't love you, Cathy. They blight and curse and damn you!"
Biggest Flirt | Catherine Earnshaw-Linton | "I've no more business to marry Edgar Linton than I have to be in heaven; and if the wicked man in there had not brought Heathcliff so low, I shouldn't have thought of it."
Most Unwelcome . . . | Mr. Lockwood | 'till my eyes closed; but they had not rested five minutes when a glare of white letters started from the dark, as vivid as spectres—the air swarmed with Catherines; and rousing myself to dispel the obtrusive name'
Hindley Earnshaw | Biggest Alcoholic | "He neither wept nor prayed; he cursed and defied: execrated God and man, and gave himself up to reckless dissipation. The servants could not bear his tyrannical and evil conduct long"
Edgar Linton | Biggest Pushover | "Catherine, try to be glad, without being absurd. The whole household need not witness this sight of your welcoming a runaway servant as a brother."
Most Naive | Isabella Linton | "Look at me. I'm pretty. I'm a woman and I love you. You're all of life to me. Let me be a single breath of it for you"
Biggest Gossip | Nelly Dean | "Her brother, who loved her tenderly, was appalled at this ... fantastic preference. Leaving aside the degradation of an alliance with a nameless man, and the possible fact that his property, in default of heirs male, might pass into such a one's power. . . "

Most Loyal ... | "Hareton, with a streaming face dug green sods and laid them over the brown mound himself..." | Hareton Earnshaw

Wuthering Heights Yearbook Explanations Heathcliff We chose “Most Likely to Murder a Generation” because of Heathcliff’s murderous tendencies and harsh temper. We found this picture and it looked like the Heathcliff we had envisioned while reading the book. He is dark, mysterious and scary looking. Heathcliff says this quote to Catherine, and he talks about how he will “blight and curse and damn” her. It shows his temper and his anger towards others. Catherine Earnshaw Linton We chose “Biggest Flirt” because she can’t choose between Edgar and Heathcliff. She basically leads on Heathcliff by making him think she loves him and then marrying someone else, and leads on Edgar by marrying him when she didn’t really love him. We used this picture because it makes her look flirtatious and almost vulnerable, like Catherine was. Catherine says this quote to Nelly, and it proves that she loves one man while marrying another that is safe.
Mr. Lockwood We chose “Most Unwelcome” because no one seems to want him anywhere. Heathcliff practically throws him out at the beginning, and he keeps getting kicked out throughout the book. At the end when he returns to Thrushcross Grange he has to beg to be given a room. We used this picture because he looked awkward and weird, and that is how he acted in the book in almost every situation. This quote is when he is describing the incident with Catherine’s ghost. He is terrified as usual, and the fact that a ghost is talking to him terrifies him and obviously makes him feel unwelcome. Hindley Earnshaw We chose “Biggest Alcoholic” because Hindley ends up drinking himself to death after Frances dies. We chose this picture because it is of a passed out drunken man and this is Hindley in most of the book. This quote is Nelly talking about Hindley and his drunkenness, and how he is mean to everyone and no one likes to be around him.
Edgar Linton We selected “Biggest Pushover” because he lets Catherine walk all over him and do whatever she wants. He lets Heathcliff into his house because she tells him to and he doesn’t want to lose her. We chose this picture because the guy looks nerdy and Edgar was not the most attractive guy in the book, so the picture matched. The quote is when he tells Catherine to stop being giddy about Heathcliff’s return, but after he says this he lets her do what she wants and she lets Heathcliff stay and return. Isabella Linton We chose “Most Nave” for Isabella because she marries Heathcliff even though Catherine and Nelly tell her it’s a bad idea. Everyone tells her about his bad side, even Heathcliff himself, but she won’t believe them and goes through with it anyway. We chose Kirsten Dunst as our picture because she has blonde hair and light skin like the Lintons are known for. In this quote she is telling Heathcliff that she will love him and she looks desperate. She goes behind everyone’s back and leaves with him.
Nelly Dean We chose “Biggest Gossip” because Nelly tells everyone everything that is not her business. We chose this pilgrim woman because Nelly is a maid and that is how we imagined her; matronly, old and slanderous. In this quote she is talking about everyone else in the book, talking about their business and what they’re doing. Catherine Linton Heathcliff We selected “Most Outspoken” because Cathy definitely speaks her mind and tells everyone what she thinks. We chose this picture of Reese Witherspoon because she has darker skin like the Earnshaws, but has the light hair of the Lintons. In this quote she is talking to Heathcliff and isn’t afraid of him and tells him exactly what she thinks of him.
Hareton Earnshaw We chose “Most Loyal” because even after Heathcliff is horrible to him for years and treats him terribly, he still cries for him when Heathcliff dies. He loves him in his own way and stands up for him when he has to. We chose this picture because the guy in it has long dark hair, and is dirty like Hareton. In this quote is Nelly talking about Hareton right after Heathcliff dies, and she says that he is crying and is sad for his death. Linton Heathcliff We selected “Biggest Wimp” because Linton is weak and boring and whiney. He gets on everyone’s nerves and no one really likes him at all. We chose the picture of the crying child because Linton acts like a child and is constantly complaining about something. This quote is Nelly describing the scene where Cathy pushes his chair. He immediately starts coughing and crying and is completely unnecessary.
