FC: World War II | A global military conflict lasting from 1939 to 1945

2: There are many reasons why the US get involved in WWII. Including that Nazi Germany was sinking American supply ships because the US was providing financial and military support to allied troops.

3: Most Importantly, Japan attacked the US naval base at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii, without a declaration of | war or any warning that hostilities were being commenced, sinking most of the battle fleet

5: The US was unofficially in a great many ways involved in WWII from the very start, September 1, 1939. The US became and official combatant in what was later called World War II on December 8, 1941 the day after the Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.

6: The year generally given is 1939. However, one can say that the war started at different times for different countries. Most historians agree the ' World War' started in 1937 or in 1939. The most commonly accepted date is either September 1st or 3rd, 1939. | There are many views on exactly when and where World War II started, and what started it.

8: The major countries involved are German, Britain, France, China, US, Soviet Union, Canada, Australia, Italy and japan.

11: World War II represented major turning point for women as they eagerly supported the war effort, while other historians emphasize that the changes were temporary and that immediately after the war was over, women were expected to return to traditional roles of waves and mothers, and finally, a third group has emphasized how the long significance of the change brought about by the war provided the foundations for the contemporary women's movement.

12: The Great Depression began in October 1929, when the stock market in the United States dropped rapidly. Thousands of investors lost large sums of money and many were wiped out, last everything. The 'crash' led us into Great Depression. The ensuing period ranked as the longest and worst period of high unemployment and low business activity in modern times Banks, Stores, and Factories were closed and left millions of Americans jobless, homeless, and penniless.

13: Many people came to depend on the government or charity to provide them with food. | In the United Sates, President Herbert Hoover held office when the Great depression began.The economy continued to slump almost every month. Franklin D. Roosevelt was elected President in 1932. Roosevelt's 'new deal' reforms gave the government more power and helped ease the depression ended as nations increased their production of war materials at the start of World War II. This increased production provided jobs and put large amounts of money back into circulation.
