"And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me." Matthew 18:5

Dear Expectant Parents, Hi, our names are Joe and Melissa. It is with great anticipation and an array of emotions that we hope to embark on this journey with you. We cannot begin to understand the experience you are going through at this point in your life. We can only hope that you have a supportive family and friends to help you through this experience. We pray that God is beside you and helps guide you in this decision. “If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you.” (James 1:5) We met about 7 years ago and have been partners in life ever since. We had an instant emotional connection. Through our time getting to know each other we discovered we had similar life goals, enjoyed similar activities, and our temperaments complement each other. Through the many laughs, and tears we knew that we were meant for each other and after two years of dating we decided to get married. We have now been married for the past 5 years. We have known since the beginning of our relationship that if we desired to have children it would be through adoption. Melissa has a medical condition that would complicate pregnancy and risk her health and that of the child. We both feel a strong desire to share our love with a child through parenting. As we have grown in our marriage we now realize we are at a place in our relationship where we feel emotionally, spiritually, and financially ready to parent. We look forward to loving, nurturing, teaching and watching our child grow and blossom into their true self. We are blessed to have a supportive family and very good friends who are also excited about the prospect of us becoming parents. Many of our friends already have children and we enjoy spending time with their families, whether we are going on picnics with them, dressing up for Halloween and going trick or treating, or going on adventures to the zoo or aquarium. We also enjoy babysitting for our friends’ children and getting a taste of what it's like to have a child of our own. Our parents are also very excited about being grandparents. This child will be the first grandchild for Joe's mother and first niece or nephew for his two sisters. This will be the fourth grandchild for Melissa's parents, but the first one in 16 years. Melissa has three brothers and a sister-in-law who are also excited about being Aunts and Uncles. Melissa's nephew Carter said he will be glad not to be the youngest in the family. The whole family is very excited to have a new family member to love.

We both work full-time. Joe is a computer programmer and he enjoys his job very much. He has been fascinated by computers since he was 12 years old. His mother says he has been taking things apart and putting them back together most of his life. Melissa is a social worker who works in healthcare. She enjoys her job as well, connecting and getting to know people while helping them any way she can. We plan to continue working when we become parents. We are both blessed to have flexible schedules that could accommodate the needs of a child. We are exploring our options for childcare while we are working and hope to have an individual sitter for our child's care the first two years. After that we would like to involve our child in a daycare so that our child can develop social skills with other children. Joe's employer has a learning center that teaches children music, Spanish, and also has a water park. We have been praying about the decision to adopt and asking for strength and guidance along this journey. After much thought and prayer we feel called to pursue adoption and feel strongly that we not only want a relationship with our son or daughter but with you, their birthparent. We want you to know that we respect whatever decision you make, but if you decide to place the amazing gift and responsibility of raising your child with us we are open to maintaining a relationship with you. We can not begin to understand the magnitude of this decision for you and want to respect your wishes. We want you to know that we will be open with our child about his or her adoption story and are open to our child knowing you as part of his or her family. It is important to us that our presence be a source of healing and joy to you. For these reasons, we will follow your lead on the level of openness that is desired. We will continue to pray for you that God provides strength and guidance along your journey. Thank you so much for taking the time to look at our profile. We have tried to show you a taste of our lives, showing you the things we love to do, our family, friends and hopefully a little bit of our personalities. We pray for you during this time in your life and hope to meet you if you feel called to learn more about us. Sincerely, Joe and Melissa

about Melissa by Joe | Melissa is an adventurous, fun, and caring person. She is very smart and even chose a career of helping others. Melissa loves to cook and always knows the right meal to brighten my day. She is also the first person to say we need a vacation and tells me that everything will NOT go according to my plans, no matter how careful, but I must “go with the flow”. If I say we have to work hard to get something done, she has every intention of playing harder once we do. She loves children and has been looking forward to her opportunity to parent. She always brings a smile to every child's face. That is why all of our friends’ children look forward to their favorite babysitter, Melissa, to come over!

about Joe by Melissa | Joe is a fun, loving, caring, and practical person. He loves to solve problems and doesn't hesitate to offer his time and skills to help family, friends, and coworkers, with computer issues or other problems. Joe is an eagle scout and lives by the motto “Be Prepared”, so he is always thinking of the next step. Joe loves children and is very much looking forward to being a father, so much so he has already started a collection of children's movies. I think Joe is also looking forward to being a father because he loves to teach and is excited to guide and teach our child about the world. Joe also has a very good sense of humor and he loves to make people laugh!
