FC: Aiden Gabriel's | First Year
1: "Before you were conceived, I wanted you Before you were born, I loved you Before you were here an hour, I would die for you This is the miracle of Love."
2: I arrived at the hospital to be induced on Monday, October 17th. They didn't actually do anything until Tuesday at 1:00 A.M. Finally, on Tuesday night I started getting some pains, so I knew it shouldn't be too much longer. On Wednesday afternoon, the pain was too intense, especially in my back, so I got an epidural at around 3 centimeters dilated. Then they broke my water shortly after. The same night they told me to start pushing at 7 P.M. Around 30 minutes later your heartbeat started to drop. I started crying because it was horrible to hear your healthy heartbeat slowing down. Then they brought me to have an emergency c-section.
3: They had a hard time getting you out, so they had to use a vacuum, which caused a scab on the top of your head. I knew that you were out, even though I couldn't see with the curtain blocking my view. You weren't crying at first because you had fluid in your lungs. Those were the longest few minutes of my life. I started crying again because I was thinking the worst and thought you didn't make it. Finally, the doctors brought you over to me, and I gave you a bunch of kisses. | I remember seeing bubbles on your mouth and your eyes a tiny bit open. As amazing as setting eyes on you for the first time was, I couldn't enjoy it as much as I wanted to. I was telling your Mima that I didn't think I was going to make it because I couldn't breathe that well, my neck was hurting badly, and my whole upper body was shaking. After they stitched me up, they told me the shaking was normal. I was angry they didn't tell before I started panicking. | Date : October 19, 2011 Time : 7:53 p.m. Height : 20 inches Weight : 9 lbs & 3 oz
4: They took you to a nursery and put you on a monitor to keep track of your heartbeat and pulse because your lungs were weak. They also had you under a heat lamp because you had a mild case of jaundice. Therefore, I wasn't able to hold you for approximately 12 hours.
5: When they brought you in, I held you for about 10 minutes, then they took you again for another 12 hours. I was able to walk again, although the pain was excruciating. Despite the pain, I was determined to see you, so I walked to the nursery and got to hold and feed you. The same night (Thursday) you were able to stay in the room with Mima and me. I was thrilled. Since I am a heavy sleeper, I feared sleeping through your cries, but I didn't. Since your lungs weren't that strong, when you cried, your face would turn red but not much sound would come out. I was surprised I could wake up to that, but they say it's because of the mother instinct.
7: On Saturday morning we were able to leave the hospital, and after being there for almost a week, I was excited to go home. I anticipated your arrival for so long, and I am ecstatic that you are finally here. I am so grateful to have you in my life. Mommy loves you, pumpkin.
8: Happy Halloween
11: Bath Time
14: Sleeping Baby
21: Beautiful | Baby Boy
23: I can't believe that you are already a month! I never knew I could go so long without sleep, but you are worth it. You wake up every 2-3 hours in the night to eat. You started out with 2 ounces, then increased to 3, and now you are at 4. You are already in a size 1 diaper. You also don't fit into any newborn clothing, but rather 0-3 months. You weigh 12 lbs & 7 oz and are 21 inches. You are so chunky! I love your eyes, but you are asleep most of the time. You make the funniest face when I burp you because you become cross-eyed and lose control of your head, banging into my face. I wish you could smile and laugh already because when I talk to you, I feel like I am not entertaining you; it is like talking to a wall. You also hate being still. You only fall asleep when your head is in motion, bobbling back and forth. You are such a funny baby. This month has held a few milestones. Your first holiday was Halloween, and I dressed you as Tigger. You were adorable. You also had your first bath, which went surprisingly well. You were very content and didn't cry. You are close to rolling over, and I am not looking forward to that. It's bad enough that you try to roll when I change you, but when you know how to, I will have a harder time. You are the cutest baby in the world. You have brought so much joy into my life and have given it purpose. Your happiness is now the only thing that matters, and I promise I will do everything in my power to keep you happy because you deserve nothing but the best. I love you so much. Always remember that.
30: Happy | Thanksgiving
33: You are already 2 months old. I can't believe how fast time is flying by. You are still drinking 4 ounces every 2-3 hours. You are in a size 2 diaper and getting so big. You don't like pacifiers. When you are hungry, you shake your head from side to side looking for the bottle. When I give you your pacifier instead, you spit it out and make a face. You slept in your crib only 2 times because you only sleep when you are in motion, and then when I try putting you down, you wake up. Therefore, it is easier having you in my bed at night. I usually prop you up on a pillow, give you your bottle, and you fall asleep. You also snore too; it's the cutest thing. You started smiling around 5 weeks. It melts my heart every time you smile; it is truly breathtaking. You also had your first Thanksgiving. We celebrated by watching the Cowboys win their football game and went to see your Mima. You are still working on rolling over. I love you so much. I feel so blessed to have you. You are my everything. I know I need to cherish the present while you are little, but I'm a little anxious for you to get bigger. I want to be able to bring you for walks, to the park, etc. I will be sure to give you an amazing life and childhood, but also being sure not to spoil you too much. I love you munchkin.
35: M | M | O | M | Y | & | M | E
51: You are the world's cutest 3 month old! It is amazing how big you have gotten since you were born. When you went to the doctor, you weighed 16 lbs and were 23.5 inches, but I am sure you're bigger now. You now sleep 4-5 hours. You still drink 4 ounces every 2-3 hours, although sometimes you take 5 ounces. You are now in a size 3 diaper and wear 3-6 months or 6 months in clothing, depending on the brand. You are definitely a mama's boy. You don't like being put down for long periods of time, because you love attention. It's the worst when I'm trying to eat because that's when you start crying. Then if I don't get to you fast enough, you start to scratch your face, no matter how short I cut your nails. You now chuckle when you smile. It isn't a laugh quite yet, but a small giggle. You are also getting better at rolling from your tummy to your back. You celebrated your first Christmas this month. It was a very busy holiday. We went to Mima's on Christmas Eve and opened presents that night. Then we went to Pennsylvania to see family. You also celebrated New Years for the first time. We spent it at Mima's as well. Words can't describe how much you mean to me. I love you so much. Don't ever forget that.

62: Happy Valentines Day
65: This month has been very eventful. Mommy started school. I go on Tuesdays from 9am-7:30pm and Fridays 9am-3:30pm. It is hard to leaving you for so long, but at least it is only for two days a week. Although I would love to stay home and cuddle with you all day, but I know this is for our future, and I am going to do whatever I possibly can to make it better. This month you still eat 4 or 5 ounces every 2-3 hours. You started wearing a size 4 diaper and wear 3-6 month clothing, depending on the brand. You love touching people's faces and pulling Mommy's hair. You also try to crawl, but you can't get your tummy off the ground yet. You laugh a lot now and love being bounced and tossed in the air. I started you on baby cereal this month. You were supposed to start after 4 months, but I felt you were ready. The first time you didn't like it much because you weren't too happy with the spoon. The second day, you enjoyed it a bit more and now you love it! Mommy loves you so much! Te amo mucho con todo mi corazon, siempre y para siempre.
66: I Love You
69: Happy St. Patrick's Day
70: Silly Boy
73: This month you still eat 4-5 ounces every 2-3 hours. Surprisingly, that has still not changed. You had a doctors appointment and weighed 20 pounds and are 25 inches. You have gotten so big! You learned how to fake cough. You do that to get attention from everyone. Hopefully no one thinks you are really sick haha. You also grab your feet a lot now. You are very vocal, too. I started giving you jarred baby food about halfway through this month. This first one you tried was squash and you LOVE it. The next one we tried was bananas, but you wouldn't take more than a spoon of it (most likely because the texture was too thick). Apples and pears are tolerated, but you do not enjoy them as much as the vegetables. The funny thing is most babies like fruit better because of the sweet taste. You, on the other hand, are crazy about the veggies. I love you so much baby boy!
74: Happy Easter
76: First Time at
77: Chuck E. Cheese
83: I can't believe you are already 6 months! It feels like just yesterday we were in the hospital. You are growing way too fast for Mommy! You are still wearing a size 4 diaper and wear 6-12 month clothing, depending on the brand. You are so close to crawling! You can get your tummy off the ground now and move your legs, but now your arms are the problem; you do not quite know how to move them. You still manage to get around by rolling and crawling a little bit. I could not have had a better baby. You are not that cranky, never spit up, etc. The only issue with you, which I don't mind, is that you require A LOT of attention. You are a very sociable and happy baby. Mommy loves you to pieces.
84: Baby's First Swim
88: A Day at the Park
97: You have gotten so big these past 7 months. You still wear a size 4 diaper and wear 12 month clothing, depending on the brand. You are now crawling! I still can't believe it. Thankfully I was there to capture the big moment on video. You started crawling after the dog's toys. I should have seen that coming; I constantly catch you holding the dog's bones, and you scream when I take them away. You babble more saying 'baba', 'mama,' and 'dada'. You say 'mama' more though, yay! Mommy started giving you yogurt this month. You also went swimming for the first time. You loved it because the water was so warm. Mommy loves you so much; never forget that!
98: First Time at the Beach
100: First Trip to The Poconos
107: I cannot believe how fast time is going and how you are already 8 months old. Where did the time all go? You eat 5 oz, are still in a size 4 diaper, and wear 12-18 month clothing, depending on the brand. Ever since you started crawling, you get into EVERYTHING! Mommy had to put a safety gate up because you tend to crawl to the dog bowl and play with the water. You stand now, while holding onto something. It is only a matter of time when you decide to take your first steps. I assume it will take place by the time you are 10 months. Your first time going to the beach occurred this month, and you enjoyed it. Mommy loves you with all my heart, my sweet angel. Te amo mucho, mi amorcito.
119: You eat 6 oz, are wearing a size 5 diaper, and wear 12-18 month clothing, depending on the brand. You can now stand for a decent amount of time without holding onto anything. You should be walking within the next month. I am not looking forward to that much, considering you get into everything by simply crawling. You know how to clap and wave. When someone is near you, you scream and wait for the person to scream back, like it is a game. I cannot believe how much attention you need! Please stop growing so fast! I love you so much!
122: Aiden & McKayla
125: Trouble Maker
129: You're 10 months old already! Only 2 months to go until my angel is a year old! Mommy's birthday is only 3 days away, but I have your birthday planned, rather than my own. You eat 6 oz, wear a size 5 diaper, and wear 12-24 month clothing. You are taking steps! I wouldn't stay "walking" because the majority of the time you are crawling, but you walk halfway across the room. I'm so proud of my little man. Your cousin, McKayla was born this month. I didn't realize how big you were until I saw both of you together. At the doctors you weighed in at 24 lbs and 9 oz and are 29 inches. Now you lean in when Mommy asks for a kiss. It makes me so happy to see how smart you are becoming. I love you baby boy!
137: Only one more month until you are a year old! You no longer drink formula. You drink about 6 oz of cow's milk every once in a while. You're still in a size 5 diaper and wearing 18-24 month clothing. You are now running, especially when you have something you're not supposed to. It is as if you learn something new everyday. You love Barney and dance whenever you hear the theme song. After the song, you go back to whatever you were doing. You also dance to 'Pat-a-Cake.' I love you so much!
141: Pumpkin Patch
147: Happy first birthday Aiden! I cannot believe how fast this year has gone by. I love you more than words can describe. You are my everything, and I could not imagine life without you. I have been blessed with the most amazing little boy and as your mother, I promise to always make sure there is a smile on that beautiful little face of yours. You have made me the happiest person on the planet. I still cannot believe I'm a mother because it is so surreal. No matter how old you are, you will always be my baby! I love you so much pumpkin!
148: Happy 1st Birthday
