S: Jonathan Asher: A Little Boy with a Big Heart

FC: Jonathan Asher | "Gift from God" "Happy, blessed"

1: "A precious baby has come from above to live in your hearts and fill them with love."

2: Jonathan Asher arrived at 6:20 am on June 8, 2009 | We were thrilled at your arrival. You had the smallest cry and were covered with vernix. Abigail stayed right by me through the delivery; she was so excited. Alex woke up for your arrival.

3: I went into labor Sunday night, but realized at 4:00 am Monday, June 8th you were coming soon and called Anne and Margaret. | We thought you might arrive on Mommy and Daddy's anniversary, but you waited until the day after. Here we are all waiting expectantly.

4: "Sometimes the best things come in small packages" | Weighing in at 6 lbs 10 oz 19.75 inches

5: You were rushed to the hospital two hours after you were born because you had trouble breathing. We learned you had several major heart defects.

7: So many people came to see you, and you had people praying for you around the world.

9: We were so excited when you were finally able to come home!

10: Your first bath was a family affair. Everyone enjoyed it... except you!

12: Your first days at home were busy. Oxygen and monitors. Foot prints and hand prints. Snuggling and feedings.

14: "A Baby Is A Bit Of Stardust Blown From Heaven."

16: The many faces of our special little boy!

19: Who knew a sunbeam Could be so enchanting? That a game of peek-a-boo Would make you laugh every time? Who knew simple baby songs Were so wonderfully silly- Or that bananas make the best finger paints? Who knew that one little boy Could take your hand And show you the world All over again?

21: We enjoyed walking together on Daddy's day off.

22: September 2009 You were hospitalized for around two weeks with a collapsed lung and other breathing issues. Daddy was worried that you never got to see anyone smile so he made a smile on his mask. Alex and Abi loved coming for their daily visit as long as it was short. We also began fortifying your milk after this hospital stay.

24: November 2009 You looked really cute in the pumpkins, but you didn't like it very much, too sticky. You were just beginning to push up on your arms.

26: The boys in their dino PJ's. What a good looking group of boys!

29: Asher's 1st Christmas! We went to go see the lights at Chesapeake. He loved the lights!

31: You took your first big trip to Houston, TX in January 2010. | We went to Galveston and stopped at NASA on the way.

32: If you feel froggy, leap!

33: How you loved to smile and play!

36: Sleep Study Yes, they expected you to sleep in all that!

37: Papa John stayed with you at the hospital many a night. You seemed to enjoy getting wrapped up in your many cords. You also held your arm out to get your brace put back on after the nurses checked your IV.

38: You had open heart surgery on March 15, 2010 at Texas Children's Hospital. Dr. McKenzie worked on you for 11 hours. Alexander was thrilled to see your oxygen saturations finally hit 100. You had a 20 day recovery and we were able to come home on Good Friday!

40: Mommy and danced with you! | "My future's so bright I've got to wear shades."

43: Leaping... frogs? I am ready to go home, tubeless and fancy free!

44: Finally Back Together | It was hard being away from Alexander and Abigail.They were excited to see you, but a little scared that they might hurt you since you had just come home from surgery.

45: It is Time to Eat! | First Feeding | Favorite Foods Grapes Bananas Tomatoes Applesauce Cheerios Cashews Oatmeal Prunes Yogurt Cherry Jelly Beans Cinnamon Toast Fruity Pebbles French Fries Dried Fruit Carmel Corn Pop Corn Oranges Pears Eggs

46: You have a calm about you that helps everyone around you relax; therefore, many people took naps with you. I just have more pictures of Daddy. | Nap Time

47: You love bath time. Just keep the water warm. | Bath Time

48: Swimming You enjoy being in the water. You kick like crazy while Mommy carries you around. You love watching Alex and Abi jumping in the pool. You would get cool after a while and were then ready to get out.

50: 2010

51: All of our family was back together in time for Easter. You made a trip over to Don and Cindy's for the Easter egg hunt. Uncle Thomas and Aunt Cheri came over to play also. Uncle Thomas kept getting your tummy, but you got his nose.

52: May 2010 Playing in the Indian Paintbrush. You loved being outside whenever you could. Being with Alexander and Abigail was a bonus.

95: You were worried about Mommy and stayed up until Aaron arrived. You were so excited to be a big brother. You kept signing baby and smiling.
