1: For there is no friend like a sister...
2: Olive Garden Toscana Soup 1 1/2 C spicy sausage links (12 links) 4 med potatoes, cut in half lengthwise, then cut into 1/4" slices 4 slices bacon, 1/4-inch diced 1 C onions, diced 1/4 tsp Minced Garlic 2 Kale leaves, cut in half, then sliced (almost a full bag, cut small) 1 C Chicken Base (Swanson) 1 Qt water 1 C heavy whipping cream | Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Place sausage links onto a sheet pan and bake for 25 min. or until done; cut into half lengthwise, then cut at an angle into 1/2 inch slices. Place onions and bacon in a large saucepan and cook over medium heat until onions are almost clear. Add garlic and cook additional 1 minute. Add chicken base, water and potatoes, simmer 15 min. Add sausage, kale and cream. Simmer 4 min and serve.
3: Pasta Fasioli 1/2 cup celery diced 1/2 cup onions diced 1/2 cup carrots 2 lbs cooked ground beef 1-28 oz can diced tomatoes (rinsed) 2-19 ox. white kidney beans (rinsed) 3 cans beef broth 1-48 ox car Traditional Prego Spaghetti Sauce 2 1/2 T. oregano 1 1/4 t. pepper 2 3/4 dried parsley 1 T. Tabasco sauce 2 handfuls noodles | -Brown meat, add tomatoes, celery onions, carrots and broth and simmer for 15 min. -Add sauce oregano, pepper, parsley, Tabasco sauce-add one jar of whatever. -Simmer 1 hour -Add noodles-simmer 20 more minutes
4: Turkey or Chicken Casserole | 3 Cups cooked chicken or turkey 1 1/2 celery chopped 1 sm jar pimientos 1/2 bell pepper chopped 1 can cream of chicken soup 1 cup mayonnaise 2 T onion minced 1 cup sharp cheese grated 3 cups almonds toasted salt and pepper to taste | Mix first 8 ingredients, and pour in 9x13 cass. dish. MIx cheese and chips together and put on top of sauce mix sprinkle with almonds. Season to taste. Bake at 350 degree for 30-40 min. Freezes well. | ...So Good!!
5: Chicken & Broccoli | 2 pkgs. frozen broccoli cooked & drained 3 whole chicken breast 2 cans cream of chicken soup 1 cup mayonnaise 1 T lemon juice 1 t. salad mustard 1/2 t. curry powder 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese 1 small can water chestnuts, chopped 1/2 cup soft bread crumbs 1 T. melted butter | Simmer chicken in water with small onion, a stalk of celery, salt and pepper for one hour. Cool and break into pieces. Mix soup, mayonnaise, curry powder, lemon juice, mustard, and water chestnuts, if desired. Layer in casserole dish, brocc, chicken, soup mix and cheese. Repeat layers. Top with bread crumbs and pour melted butter on top. For a change, Pepperidge Farm stuffing mix may be sprinkled on top instead of bread crumbs. Bake 45 min at 350 degrees. Serves 8-10.

7: Cook a few minutes until well blended. Add noodles. Pour in baking dish and cover with grated cheddar cheese. Bake 1 hour at 350 degrees.
8: Broccoli Casserole 2 T. Oil 1/2 C. chopped celery 1/2 C. chopped onion 1 Pkg. frozen chopped broc 3/4 can of milk (soup can) 1 C. water 1 sm jar cheese whiz 1 1/2 C. instant rice (uncooked) Sauté onions an celery in salad oil, add broc. after it's thawed. Cover and let steam 10 min. Over low heat. Add soup, milk, h2o, cheese whiz and rice. Season to taste. Heat to boiling. Pour into buttered casserole dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 20-30 min. | Easy Beef Stroganoff w/ Biscuit Topping 1 lb. ground beef 1/4 C. chopped green pepper 1 t. Salt 1 can cream of chicken/mushroom soup 1 can biscuits (10) 1 sm onion, minced 1/2 C. sour cream Sauté meat, onion, pepper in margarine about 5 min. Stirring frequently. Add salt & soup and mix thoroughly. Simmer 10 min. Stir in sour cream. Place in cass. dish. Top w/ biscuits. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 min. | Family Favorites
9: Stuffed Bell Peppers 4 med bell peppers (halved length wise) 1/2 bell pepper chopped 2 stalks green onion 1 can tomatoes chopped 1 T. red pepper 1 lb. ground chuck 1 lg chopped onion 2 stalks celery chopped 2 cloves garlic chopped 4 T. chopped parsley 1 box Spanish Rice-a-Roni 1/2 tsp. Salt | Arrange peppers in baking dish. In sauce pan, brown meat with onions, celery, bell pepper, garlic, green onion, and parsley. Add salt, pepper, cook for 15 or 20 min. Prepare Rice-a-Roni according to pkg.using a can of tomatoes. Combine meat mixture with Rice-a-Roni. Spread a tsp of catsup over each pepper half. Bake at 325 degrees for 45 min. to 1 hr.
10: Jambalaya 2 1/2 to 3 pounds chicken pieces, skinned if desired 1 can (14 1/2 ounces) diced tomatoes 1 can 14 1/2 ounces) chicken broth 1 green bell pepper, chopped 2 cups French's French Fried Onions 1/4 C. Frank's RedHot cayenne pepper sauce 2 cloves garlic, chopped 2 teaspoons dried oregano leaves 3/4 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. ground black pepper 1 C. uncooked regular rice 1 lb. shrimp, pealed and deveined. | Combine the chicken, tomatoes, chicken broth, green pepper, 1 C. French's French Fried Onions, Frank's RedHot Cayenne pepper sauce, garlic, seafood seasoning, oregano, salt and pepper in the crock-pot slow cooker. Cover and cook on LOW for 4-5 hours or on High for 2-2/12 hours. Stir in the rice. Cook on LOW for 2 hours or on High for 1 hour or until rice is cooked and all liquid is absorbed. Turn Crock to High. Add shrimp. Cover and cook 30 min. or until shrimp are pink. Arrange jambalaya on serving platter. Sprinkle with remaining 1 C. French Fried Onions | Family Favorites
12: Sides | Nancy's Chicken Salad 3 C. cooked chicken breast 1 C. green grapes, halved 1/2 C. chopped pecans 1 red delicious apple, cut into cubes with skin on 1-2 tsp. lemon juice 1 C. chopped celery 1/2 tsp. sugar 1 tsp. sugar 1/2 tsp. cider vinegar 1/2 tsp. dry mustard 3/4 C. Mayonnaise ground pepper | Mix apple with lemon juice to keep from browning. Mix apple, grapes, pecans, and celery with chicken. In a separate bowl blend mayo, sugar, vinegar, dry mustard and pepper for the dressing. Combine dressing with the chicken mixture. Chill and serve.
13: Party Potatoes 3 lg. potatoes 1 ctn sour cream 1/6 C chopped green onion 1/4 stick butter 1 C. med sharp cheddar grated 1 1/2 tsp. salt pepper to taste Bake potatoes, peel and grate. Mix all ingredients and bake in Cass. dish for 30 min. at 350 degrees. | Oh So Good!
14: Cocktail Meatballs 2 cans Jellied cranberry sauce 2 bottles chili sauce 9 good dashes of Worcestershire sauce 1 lg bag frozen meatball Stir/whisk together wet ingredients in large crock pot. Add in meatballs, stir to coat. Cover and cook on high 2 hours or low 1-2 hours.
15: Mississippi Dressing 3 lg chicken breasts 2 onions 6 stalks of celery 2 cans cream chicken soup 2 cans cream mushroom soup 6 hard boiled eggs 2 cans Swanson's chick. broth 2 boxes jiffy corn bread mix 1 T. mayo salt & pepper | Cook Chicken. Save broth. Cut up onion and celery (finely chopped). Cook onions & celery; cover with broth 10-15 min. Stir in soups. Bake corn bread in 9x9 pan (add mayo before cooking). Cool; chop up very fine. Mix all ingredients in large bowl. Add chopped eggs, corn bread & soup mixture. Add chicken broth (should be loose but not watery). Cook 2 hours at 350 degrees.

18: Savory Breakfast Casserole 2 T. Unsalted butter 2 Lg shallots, chopped (1/4 Cup) 1 lb. button mushrooms, quartered 1 C. heavy cream 2 1/2 C dried herb bread stuffing 1 C. shredded white cheddar cheese 1 C. shredded sharp cheddar cheese 1 lb. bulk mild porker turkey or sausage, cooked drained & crumbled 6 Lg. eggs 2 1/2 C. whole milk 1 tsp. dry mustard S& fresh cracked black pepper to taste
19: Melt the butter in a medium skillet over medium-high heat until it foam. Add the shallots & sauté for 2 min. or until translucent. Add the mushrooms and cook for 5-7 min. or until the mushrooms have released their liquid and are tender and dry. Add the cream, turn the heat to high, and reduce the liquid by 1/2. remove the sauce from the heat. | Lightly mist a 2 qt. baking dish with veg. oil spray. Spread an even layer of cubed bread stuffing in the bottom of pan. Combine the 2 cheeses and spread 1 C. of cheese mixture over the bread layer. Add a layer of creamed mushrooms. Beat the eggs, milk, mustard, S&P in a medium mixing bowl and pour the custard over the layers. Top with the remaining cheese. | Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate overnight. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Bake uncovered for 1 hour. If the custard hasn't completely set, bake add. 10-20 min.
20: Texas Hash | 1 lb. ground beef 1 sm. onion (chopped) 1 sm. green pepper (chopped) 1 lg. tomatoes (can) 1 1/2 tsp. salt 1 C. uncooked rice 1 tsp. chili powder | Brown meat, saute' onion and bell pepper. Mix in remaining ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for one hour (covered). | "Hope is the only bee that makes honey without flowers."
21: 2 lbs. frozen hashbrowns (thawed) 16 oz. sour cream 2 cans cream of chicken soup 2 C. shredded cheddar cheese favorite meat, if desired. Mix together and place in greased casserole dish. | Topping 3 C. crushed corn flakes 1 melted stick of butter Mix together and place on top of mixture. Bake at 350 degrees 1 hr. | Cheesy Hashbrown Casserole
22: Brunch Casserole 1 lb. bulk hot breakfast sausage 1 red pepper (chopped) 1 lg. onion (chopped) 1 7 oz can mild green chilis 1 sm. can sliced black olives, drained 3-4 cups shredded cheese-cheddar, jack, etc. 3 T. flour 4-6 eggs 3/4 cup milk 1-2 can crescent rolls | Crumble & brown sausage in skillet, remove & reserve oils in skillet Sauté peppers & onion till soft & translucent Line bottom of pan with crescent rolls, sealing together slits between Top with sausage, pepper & onion Top with olives & green chilis Toss cheese with flour & top fillings Lightly beat eggs with milk & drizzle over fillings in pan-distribute evenly. Bake in preheated 375 degree oven till set & lightly browned- approx. 20-30 min.
24: Liz's Red Velvet Cake 1/2 C. shortening 1 1/2 C. Sugar 2 eggs 1 t. vanilla 1 t. butter flavoring 1 oz. red food coloring 3 T. Cocoa 2 1/2 C. flour 1 C. buttermilk 1 T. vinegar 1 t. salt, 1 t. soda Cook in three pans at 350 degrees for 20-25 minutes. Check after 15 min. | Icing for Cake 1st mixture- cook until thick, stirring constantly 3 T. flour 1 C. milk 1/2 t. salt Let cool completely
25: 2nd mixture- 1 C. shortening 1 C. Sugar 1/4 t. butter flavor 2 t. vanilla Cream shortening & sugar. Add flavoring. Pour 1st mixture into 2nd mixture and beat well. When you make the icing, divide it into three parts. Spread on tops only, so the sides show.
26: Knock-You-Outs 1 18.5 oz. pkg. German choc. cake mix 1/2 C. evaporated milk 3/4 C. butter 60 pieces caramel candy 1/2 C. evaporated milk 1 C. semi-sweet choc. morsels
27: Combine Cake mix, nuts, 1/3 C. evaporated milk, and melted butter. Mix well. Press 1/2 of the mixture into the bottom of a gresed 13x9 in baking dish. Bake at 350 degrees for 8 min. | Melt caramel candy in top of double boiler with 1/2 C. evaporated milk. Stir until smooth and pour over baked mixture. Cover with choc. morsels and pour remaining dough mixture over chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 18 min. Cool before slicing into squares or bars.
28: Bulldog Cookies 1/2 C. melted margarine 1/2 C. melted butter 1 C. light brown sugar-packed 1 C. chopped pecans 18 whole graham crackers, separated | Heat oven to 350 degrees. Line large cookie sheet with foil. Line up separated graham crackers side by side to fil cookie sheet. Combine marg, butter, brown sugar and pecans. Boil for 3 minutes, stirring constantly. Spoon mixture over graham crackers. Bake for 10-12 minutes. When cool, pull cookies off foil. Enjoy!
31: Hopscotch 12 oz pkg. of butterscotch morsels. Melt them over hot water. Stir in 1 cup of peanut butter. In a large bowl, put in 1 large can of La Choy chow mein noodles and four cups of mini marshmallows. Add butterscotch mixture to that thoroughly. Mix. Drop by Tspful on wax paper or into a greased 18' square pan and cut. | Quick and Easy Fudge 1 pkg. choc. chips 1 small can sweetened condensed milk 1/2 cup peanut butter 1 t. vanilla Stir all together in a microwavable bowl. Takes 3 minutes in the microwave, and it's very important to stir it every 30 seconds. Pour it onto foil or into a butter coated pan or dish.
