FC: 5 THEMES OF GEOGRAPHY | BY: JOHN GILBREATH
Geography has five themes. These are location, place, human-environment interaction, movement, and regions.
Location can be described in two different ways, absolute and relative. Absolute location describes latitude and longitude. Relative location describes how near something is to something else.
Place can be described in two ways, physical and human. Physical describes land, water features, climate, and natural resources. Human describes the cultural groups who live in the particular place, their way of living, economic activities, and so on.
Human-environment interaction is basically the effect that we have on the Earth and its effect on us.
Movement is basically the movement of people, resources, products, ideas, technology, or anything like that to and from different regions of the world.
Basically, regions are areas that are united by cultural, economic, or political bonds.
