BC: Thank you for reading my Diary. Thanks Mrs.Grosch for teaching me Astronomy and thank you all of the teachers for helping me make this Mix book.

I dedicate this mix book to Ms. Grosch. She taught me most of the stuff if not all of the stuff that I know about astronomy. Thank You Ms. Grosch. =)

In the beginning: When I was a baby I was a nebula. Also known as an interstellar cloud of dust, hydrogen gas, helium gas and plasma. Nebula's often form star-forming regions, such as in the Eagle Nebula. That is what I was. I was a nebula that depicted in one of NASA's most famous images, known as the "Pillars of Creation". In these kind of regions the formations of gas, dust and other materials "clump" together to form larger masses, which attract further matter, and eventually will become big enough to form stars. It took me a few hundred years. The remaining materials on us are thought to form planets, and other planetary system objects. That has never happened to me. My mom named me Starlight.

In my childhood: I lived most of my life in a phase termed as the Main Sequence. After achieving nuclear fusion, I shine energy into space. I slowly bond over billions of years to pay off for the heat and light energy lost. As this slow tightening continues, my temperature, thickness, and pressure at the core continue to increase. The temperature at the center of me slowly rises over time because the star shines away energy, but it is also slowly contracting. This battle between gravity pulling in and gas pressure pushing out will go on over the entire life span of the star.

A Smile As Sweet As Spring

As an adult: There are two ways that a star can become a giant or super-giant. The way I became a giant or a super giant, is that I was lucky enough to amass enough matter prior to the beginning of fusion in its core, I become a very massive star or super-giant. Typically, the life of a super-giant is short because its core temperature is extreme. The reasoning for this is that the high mass of the star keeps the core temperature very hot because of gravities strength in the core. My core had a lot of hydrogen to fuse, I can have run away nuclear reactions that occur simultaneously. Eventually my core is exhausted of fusible matter and I collapsed to become either a neutron star or a black hole. I turned into a neutron star.

 In the End...

The end of my life: I was a white dwarf. That was the end of my life. A white dwarf is what stars like your Sun become after they have exhausted their nuclear fuel. Near the end of my nuclear burning part of life, I got rid of most of my outer material, creating a planetary nebula. Only my burning hot core remains. My core became a very hot young white dwarf. Many nearby, young white dwarfs have been detected as sources of soft X-rays ; recently, soft X-ray and extreme ultraviolet observations have become a powerful help in the study the work and arrangement of the thin atmosphere of these stars.
