4: Angelina National Forest is one of four national forests located in Texas. Angelina National Forest is in the upper gulf coastal plains. The summers are hot and humid reaching up to the 90's and the winters are cold at about 52 degrees. The activities in Angelina National Forest include but are not limited to boating, camping, fishing, hiking, picnicking and water sports. | Angelina National Forest | Recreational

5: Brazos River | The Brazos (translates to arms of god) is a large river that runs through central Texas and into the gulf of Mexico. Part of the Brazos River is a popular area for paddling though other areas of the river have winds that can literally blow you back upstream. THe Brazos fed by several smaller rivers including the Bosque and the Paluxy. | Water

6: Corpus Christi Marina | Corpus Christi marina is a popular boating area in Texas and is the focal point of the city. Though it is a popular area being on the coast there is also a high risk of hurricanes striking even if a hurricane doesn't directly hit Corpus it may still cause high winds and large waves. Despite all of the hurricane possibilities the Corpus Christi Marina still attracts many tourists. | Recreational

7: Dallas | Dallas is one of the largest cities in Texas with a population of over 1,300,000 people 600,000 of whom are of working age. Dallas being a big cities with good colleges attracts more well educated people about 30% of the population in fact have a bachelors degree or higher. The city also has an effective city council with officials to represent every district. | City

8: El Paso | El Paso in far east Texas is home to a very hot climate mountains and some interesting landmarks. Just one of these landmarks is a large statue of Jesus. The times in El Paso are strange El Paso goes by mountain time while near them Mexico goes by a time period which sets it 1 hour or so ahead. John Cook the mayor of El Paso encourages people to stay active and participate. | City

9: Fair Park | Fair Park outside of Dallas is a group of convention center for people of all ages. one of these said attractions is the worlds largest collection of 1930s Art. Fair park also has a Hall of State For important people in history this includes a section called the Hall of Heroes. Fair Park is also home to the largest ferris wheal in the western hemisphere and the cotton bowl. | Recreational

10: Guadalupe Peak | Texas' Guadalupe Peak also known as the "Top of Texas" is the highest mountain in Texas sporting several hiking trails. There are so many different trails I could not fit them all on this page. Guadalupe Peak is located in far west Texas in the mountains and basins region. Guadalupe Peak along with all the hiking offers the experience of riding your own horse up the mountain. Recently the burn ban in effect has bean lifted. | Land Form

11: The La Borde house originally home to Francoise LaBorde is now a hotel in Rio Grande City. The La Borde House opened as a gull service hotel in 1982. The La Borde house is lo9cated very close to the Rio Grande and offers many luxurious suits. | La Borde House | Historical Importance

12: Inner Space Caverns | It took 10,000 years to find Inner Space and is now home to many unearthed fossils and a lot of tourists. Inner Space was found by a core drilling team of the Texas Highway Department who accidentally drilled into the cave in spring of 1963. | Land Form

13: Jacksonville College located in Jacksonville Texas is a school "committed to creating unique and powerful learning environments for our students" says members of the faculty. Jacksonville College also has a huge alumni group of 20,000 former students. Jacksonville College has about 50 special events a year. 14: Kilgore College | Kilgore College hosts a number of classes and attractions including the East Texas Oil Museum and theTexas Shakespeare festival. Kilogre has around 25 educational categories of classes with several subcategories as well. Kilgore College hosts a number of sports including football, womens basketball and mens basketball. Kilgore College is located in Kilgore, Texas. | University

15: There's a whole lot of party going on | Lake Gilmer | Lake Gilmer first opened to the public on September 29th 2001 and is located 4 miles west of Gilmer, TX. Lake Gilmers surface spans about 1,000 acres on its surface and provides optimum land for future development for things such as hiking trails, picnic areas and more. | water

16: University of Mary Hardin Baylor | The University of Mary Hardin Baylor (UMHB) is located in Belton, Texas. UMHB is a Christian University with approximately 2800 undergraduates and 350 Alumni. UMHB offers 7 mens sports and 6 womans along with many academic options. | university

17: Nave Museum | The Nave Museum located in Victoria, TX is a fine arts museum named after Royston Nave who died suddenly in 1931. The Nave Museum currently only collects Roystons art which are only exhibited once every several years. | historical importance

18: Family, Fun, Food and Fireworks | Odessa | The city of Odessa Texas is home to 99,960 people and a large number of jobs which give you 10 1/2 holidays off. Odessa also has several tourist attractions such as The Parker House, The White-Pool House and The Ellen Noel Museum. | city

19: Emory Peak | Emory Peak is the highest of the Chisos mountains at 7,825 feet This is still well below the height of Guadalupe Peak. Emory Peak has many hiking trails the easiest of which is to a 2,400 foot elevation and is 3-4 miles in length. | land form

20: Quantana Beach County Park (QBCP) | QBCP is located at 330 5th St, Quintana Brazosport Area, Texas. QBCP has several attractions such as the beaches the cuisine and the fine arts and culture of the area. QBCP also has an RV park for those who need it and several different style hotels from rustic to modern. | recreational

21: Colorado River | The beginning of the Colorado River is located in Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. The Colorado was originally named Rio Colorado or red river by the Spanish. The Glen Canyon Dam constructed in 1963 is one of the most well known dams on the Colorado because it blocks sediment that originally made the river red and instead makes it blue-green. | water

22: Sabine River | The Sabine River joins in three main branches-the Cowleech , the Caddo , and the South. The Sabine flows 555 miles into the Gulf of Mexico. Unlike any other rivers in Texas the Sabine runs through areas with high rainfall only up to 37 in. a year in some parts. | water

23: University of Texas at Brownsville | University of Texas at Brownsville commonly abbreviated UTB is a college in south Texas (Brownsville) that an alumni staff of 14 and many students. You may learn 4 different sports and study many subjects the team logo is a scorpion and most students live on campus. | university

24: UT Tower | UT Tower located in Austin, Texas stands 337 feet high and represents The University of Texas. UT Tower was designed by Paul Cret of Philadelphia and was completed in 1937. | historical importance

25: Van Horn | The Van Horn Mountains begin nine miles southwest of Van Horn in southeastern Hudspeth County. There are a total of 12 mountains in the Van Horn area which stretches for sixteen miles in the southeastern direction. | land form

26: Wonder World | Wonder World park in San Marcus, Texas is a "one of a kind theme park" that displays the worlds first "show cave" the Balcones Fault Line Cave is open for viewing. The cave has been viewed by man for over 105 years now and the park now also exhibits several rides. | land form

27: XIT Historical Museum | XIT Museum located in Dalhart, Texas is a historical museum with many exhibits from simple facts to stunning displays of art. The XIT has many exhibits from the 1800's such as guns, hats and cameras.XIT also has a large archive of books and phottos from the 1800's. | historical importance

29: Z.I Hale Museum | The Z.I Hale Museum located in Winters, TX is a 2 story optometry clinic donated by the family of Dr. Z. I. Hale now being used as a historical museum. The museum displays several things such as artifacts that indicate how life was in Winters in prehistoric times. | historical importance
