1: Don't you think Ancient China is just like the 21 century? Well you wrong, but right at the same time! Read on to find out about Ancient China.

2: To survive they had crops, food, wood, stone, animals, grain, water and many other things.

3: Artisans and craftsmen painted landscapes, mountains, rivers, waterfalls, fish, birds, insects, and portraits.

4: If a law was ever broken people would be punished. If you were in an armed robbery you would be punished to death. | If a little girl insulted her parents she would be strangled, if she wounded them she would be tortured and cut into pieces. | Mostly a judge would determine the crime, but sometimes your family would.

5: The city-states was kind of a battle between dynasties, and who could get more people and a bigger land. So when a new dynasty came, most likely a new city was built.

6: The emperor was the ruler of China. China was ruled by dynasties which is a family of rulers.

7: Shi- Gentry Scholars: These were educated people that were not necessarily rich but were highly respected. If they were a scholar and a landowner they could be wealthier but not always.

8: Nong- Peasant Farmers: Landowners, which provided food for everyone, and paid taxes to support the government and society needs.

9: Gong- Artisans & Craftsmen -All the people who made things had a special skill. They made paintings, made pottery, ceramic, silk, clothing, bronze, paper. Not as respected because they didn't own land, but they are more respected then the merchants and traders because they had special skills that made things for society to use.

10: Chang- Merchants and Traders: People who buy and sell the items that the artisans and craftsmen made. Were not as respected because they did not own land, and were not educated. Could pay for education or buy land to get respect.

11: Taoism: Belief in the natural forces of positive and negative, just like good and bad. Believed universe was created by positive and negative forces and that everything that happens or is made revolves around these forces.

12: Muslims: They read text from the Qur'an,and they worshiped in the Mosque. Sacred city is Mecca, they always bowed in direction of this city to pray. Believed in Allah which is a God, the last prophet was Muhammad.

13: Confucius had many rivals during his lifetime. His teaching became the basis for the state religion of China and are followed by every Chinese official. Confucianism is based off of the leading of Confucius. They believed you were born good or bad. They believe in a force of positive and evil based off laws made by people.

14: Ancient China began around 10,000 BCE. The first Chinese dynasty with a historical record was the Shang.

15: Shang: The first Chinese dynasty with a historical record was the Shang. The Shang built walled towns and cities, palaces, tombs, and workshops. Zhou: The Zhou king divided up the land. He is in control of the estates, chariots, textiles, and slaves.

16: Ancient China is very good at navigation, spiritual balance, mathematic and natural prevention and diagnosis.

17: They started to settle around the Yellow River/the ocean in Asia. The Chinese are where they are right now because it was a big land.

19: Its amazing how many things China built and how much the 21 century is compared to the bc years. Isn't it amazing what they did to people if they disobeyed? Now a days we would get grounded from our phones or Ipods. Instead of killing people we just put them in jail for life. Ancient China is different from now, but similar in some ways.
