1: The solidus is a mark that is over looked. It is often misplaced, creating ambiguity. The most common use is to replace it eith the hyphen or en dash to make clear a strong joint between words or phrases . There are many disgreements reguarding the correct and inncorrect useage of the mark. However, the following is a collection of what I belive is correct and incorrect. | Forward:

2: Correct!!! The solidus is used for the signoff (credits) in photo captions

4: Face Book Flop | Incorrect: You should not use the slash to separate independent clauses, as shown above.

5: Incorrect: The line is highlighting an example found in a handbook for psychology students. This is incorrect because for a simple comparision a hypen or an en dash should be used instead.

6: ( Above) Incorrect: There is a space between each noun and the slash.
